18: Secrets

Yena was waiting while sitting in the auditorium where the graduation ceremony was being held.

She was worried about her mother since she hadn't come back from wherever she went. She looked at the messages she sent to her mother but she didn't read them yet.

Yena sighed before locking her phone and sitting properly. She looked around trying to find Taehyung but failed when her name was called suddenly.

Yena was walking on the street back to her house while looking at the messages she sent her mother but still got no response.

I should probably report it to the police. She thought and kept her phone inside her pocket and held her back straps close to her when she felt uneasy.

She turned to look back but she didn't find anyone. She frowned and faced back towards her home. She started walking and felt someone following her.

She turned back and her eyes widened. A man dressed in a black overcoat, black beanie, and black mask was standing beside the electric pole watching her actions.

Shivers ran through her spine and her eyes were shaking. She started breathing heavily and turned back to start running.

She held the straps of her bag tightly and ran as fast as she could while panicking internally. She turned back to see the man running behind her and she was scared.

She ran towards her home and entered it. Just when she was about to push the door to shut it someone held it from outside and pushed it causing her to stumble backward.

Someone held her waist and covered her mouth, tackling her while she struggled under the grip. Her voice was muffled while the unknown person carried her figure inside the home.

"Mom!" Yena screamed when the man left her mouth but covered it again to stop her from screaming. Her eyes widened to see Taehyung's eyes staring at her.

She struggled under his grip while he took off her bag and threw it somewhere in the room before pushing her back, releasing her.

She stood up and stared at him fearfully while he took off his mask and hat, looking at her darkly.

Yena's entire body was giving her an inexplicable signal. A warning, perhaps. She was breathing heavily while Taehyung was slowly taking steps towards her.

"Let's talk, alright, honey?" He rasped and she took her steps back. "Mom!" She tried to turn back and run towards her room when Taehyung covered her mouth again and pulled her back throwing her on the couch and hovering her.

"I said let's talk," Taehyung raised his voice while Yena was trying to push him off her. "Get off me, leave!"

"Listen Yena. I want to tell you something-" Taehyung started but Yena pushed him off and started to run when he wrapped his arms around her figure pulled her back on the couch and pinned her over there. She cried while trying to free herself from his clutch.

"Stop being so stupid, Yena. Listen—" Taehyung was cut off when someone hit his head with something.

Taehyung's eyes widened before he collapsed on Yena and she screamed.

She pushed his body from over hers and looked at the person who helped him but gasped before covering her mouth. "Taehyung?" She said looking at him standing in front of her and then at the person beside her.

"Taehyung?" She called out while looking at the person passed out beside her. She looked at the one standing in front of her and stood up. "Who are you?" She asked but Taehyung held her hands.

"Calm down, honey." He said and she shook her head while crying. "What is happening? Why are there two of you? What is happening?" She asked while shaking her head continuously.

Taehyung held her head and made her look at him while she stared at him in confusion. "I am Taehyung, honey. That is my twin brother, Taehoon. He is obsessed with you. So he was pretending to be me and was with you these days." He said and her eyes widened.

"Since when?" She asked while being utterly shocked. "Since he saw you confessing to Minho. He's the one who killed your mother too." He said and she gasped before pushing him away.

"No, no! You both are playing with me. What did you do with her?" She screamed at Taehyung but he shook his head.

"Taehoon killed your mother, Yena. He's obsessed with you. He cannot see you with anyone. Taehoon came to you without me knowing and spent time with you." He said and she looked at him while crying.

"You knew?" She asked but he shook his head. "I didn't. I swear. He is the one causing trouble in your life. Killing people in your lives so that you don't have anyone in your life but him." He said and she looked at the passed-out Taehoon on the couch.

"He is a gangster, Yena. My father abandoned him when he joined the underworld. But when he saw you at your dad's funeral in Daegu he got obsessed with you. And when he came to visit me here in Seoul and saw that we are friends he exchanged places with me, pretending to be me in front of you and manipulated you." He explained and she cried while shaking her head.

"I am an idiot. What am I going to do now? Everything is gone. Everything!" She said while sobbing. Taehyung slowly approached her and engulfed her in a hug and she cried on his chest.

Taehyung caressed her hair and patted her back while smirking evilly at his unconscious brother on the couch.

"You still have me, honey. I'll be there with you."
