Family.
The whole Lot of them sickened me most especially My Dads family.
From the fakery of their voices to the disdain in their eyes and the scornfulness of their words.
Generally they were sickening.

My father's Sisters, my father's Mother(my grandmother) and my father's potbellied brothers were sickening but then their children, Aunty Aminu's children? They all left me barfing.
Children who were trained with millions of dollars and trillions of Naira and was raised to be aware of the fact they Came from a very rich family, one with Power and Control at their feet never and never Had any regard for anybody not even their family members.

Talk more of the Daughter of the woman who came from nothing and got married to their brother and started making use of all the powers lying helplessly at their feet and making herself into Most powerful Woman in Nigeria and second most powerful woman in Africa. It was understandable where the hatred and contempt Came from.

And I was always bothered.  Bothered by the extent of hate and Downgradement that they always threw at me. I knew that within their hearts they doubted me for being their blood and was looking a fault in my mother or in Her marriage to sell to the world, looking for a way to prove to the world that Mrs JegedeLamido was a whore and Victoria a bastard.

So why am I here and my Mom's sister is telling me that they (Aunty Aminu's family) is coming over for a short period holiday in Akure.  "They don't even Know you Aunty Yemi?!" I was too flabbergasted to even understand The situation.
It didn't make any sense to me, how would a billionaire's Family come to the housing of a humble Widowed woman just because they want to spend time with their Cousin who they didn't like? Does this sound like what people in the right frame of mind would do?

"Victoria.....it's not even as difficult as you're making it out to be....they probably miss you." Came Aunty Yemi weak consolation and I gaped at her.
"You....Mother and you 'I pointed at her and my mother's portrait lying on a table in the sitting room' Are very aware that this people hate me." I paused and closed my eyes praying that none of what's happening now is real and is just a figment of my imagination.
"Victoria! Stop saying that! They don't hate you!! Maybe they don't accept you but they certainly don't hate you!" This was the first time that Aunty Yemi was going to be raising her voice at me and it made my heart miss a beat.

"What's my mother saying about it?" I asked hoping that maybe that she would think in my favor.
"She's indifferent. Her words are: "those children aren't nothing you can't handle"..." I sauntered out of the seating room. Determined to go far from this Place. Go where this reeking news won't be polluting the Air.
Almost immediately my phone rang and I paused my descending of the stairs to check the caller's ID. The person who was calling wasn't a saved contact and I wondered who this could be.

But I picked anyway.
"Good morning Vicky!" The voice was bursting with Vigor and extra bubbly.
"Hi Jessica. I'm surprised you have my number." I replied smiling aloofly.
"So you don't like surprises?" Came Jess And also the stirring of food together.
"I do Jess. What's happening today now."
"Lesson baby girl and our Date."Jessica said in between mouthfuls.
"Are you coming for the lessons today?" I asked her back, it had escaped my mind that we were having lessons with Gold class today. And today was actually A weekend.
"I am and that's why I'm calling you. I had this feeling that Victoria wasn't even aware that we had lessons today, am I right?" Came from the other end and I sighed.
"Very correct Jess." I replied and heard her burst in to a joyful laughter.
"Bad student!" She jabbed and I smiled. "Like you too." I Jabbed back.
"Baby dress nice too. We're going out today immediately the lessons are over!" Jessica purred out.
"I'm not an outing babe! I'm a low key babe, I can wear jeans right?"
"And a crop top will be amazing! Catch you later." The line disconnected before I could start protesting and I sighed.
It dawned on me that I was Stuck with Extrovert Jessie pending the time Nonye and Dera would come around.
