"Wake uuuuuuuuuuuppppp!!!" Maxwell shouted. Jessica and I both sprung up.
"Are you crazy?!" Jessica shouted.
"Yes! Come on get dressed ya Sleeping Beauties."
"Why?" I yawned, taking out the sleep out of my eyes.
"Don't you know? Today's activity is jet skiing!"Jessica and I both looked at each other. Jessica was clearly excited. So was I. "How did you find out?" I asked.
"Apparently there was a schedule for what we are doing these two weeks."Jessica and I got out of bed and went to the door. Just as Maxwell said, there was a schedule that somehow nobody noticed. "It says that the jet ski race starts half past eleven." I said. I looked at the digital clock and nearly fainted.
"How long have we been sleeping?!" I hollered.
"What?" Jessica asked, clearly confused.
"The race starts in another half an hour. We won't make it!"
"Oh yes we will." Maxwell said. "I am not missing this. You guys take too long, I'm going. With or without you guys." Without anything else said, we got changed into something we don't mind getting wet in and raced towards the beach.
******************" Come on!" Maxwell said, determined.
"Run faster!"
"You can do it!
"Don't quit now!"
"You can make it!Why Maxwell was shouting to himself while he was running, I had no idea. Well, he doesn't look very fit the way he is panting.
As we got closer I heard a too familiar voice. "-am sorry for breaking in your rooms and putting the schedules last night." Said Joshua Rondor. So he snuck into our rooms and placed the schedules. "Before we commence with the aquatic race,"
The crowd cheered. Joshua just chuckled then continued, "As I was saying, the aquatic race will be raced with everyone one here. Especially the staff, even me!"
I'd like to work for this guy someday.
Everyone got on a jet ski, including Joshua. (which I am quite surprised that he didn't sink yet. Shhhh.) "On your marks, get set!" He called out. He then left before all of us before saying "go!" Bastard.
I revved my engine and left the starting line. Maxwell was next to me, Jessica in front. I could feel the water spraying on my face and the cool air blowing into my face. Most of the people were laughing, having a great time. Maxwell was very happy by the look on his face, that trademark grin plastered on his face. Even I have to admit that I'm having a great time. Which was quite hard to believe.
Why is Jessica still in front of us? Maxwell was passing me now as well. Even a couple in their mid-fifties were getting ahead of me. What the hell? I quickly checked my speedometer and gasped. I am going way too slow. 50m/h. I needed to think. This thing works like a motorbike, I'm probably not pulling the handle hard enough. I tried it and zoomed past the couple. I was gaining on Maxwell but Jessica is still way ahead of all of us. I just past Maxwell! His face was classical, the way he is shocked to see that I went passed him. I also saw on his speedometer he is going on his fastest. I laughed. Now I just have to get past Jessica and win the race
........which proved impossible since she made it past the finish line."What took you so long?" Jessica smiled.
"I had to slow down for Chad to go pass me. I felt sorry for him, being close to last." Maxwell replied.
"Ha! I saw on your speedometer that you were going on your fastest." I said.
"Damn it!" Maxwell scowled.
Jessica laughed. "Beaten by a girl!"We soon got off our jet skis and our feet touched solid ground. We were now heading to the resort. "So Jessica," I began, "where are you from?"
"I'm from Manhattan." She said.
"So what brings you here on this lovely island?"
Jessica stopped. So did Maxwell and I. She looked at the sparkling sea water sadly. "Let's just say that I'm going through.........rough times. I came here to clear my mind. My thoughts about home and my........family."
