The night came quickly when I came out of the shower. The stars were sparkling tonight, like Jessica's eyes. Ah fudge! I better apologise to to her. But why should I? If she feels the same way there's nothing to feel sorry for. Although I don't want to look like an ass and not apologise. Its for the best Chad, I told myself. Maybe there's something she wants to say as well. Maybe about her family and needs a shoulder to cry on. I'm not sure. I got dressed and went out of the bathroom.
"Chad!" Maxwell called. "We ordered cheeseburgers for tonight."
"Okay. Where's Jessica?"
"She's by the balcony."I walked towards her and whispered in her ear, "The moon is beautiful tonight." She got the fright of her life and started slapping me on my back. We both laughed despite that.
"So, um," I began, thinking what words to say, "I'm sorry."
Honestly, Chad. Really? That's all you gotta say?
"Sorry for what?" Jessica asked, confused. Had she already forgotten?
I sat down next to her on the chair.
"I'm sorry for being a jerk."
"Since when were you a jerk?"I just smiled sadly.
"Listen, just because you were about to kiss me doesn't make you a jerk. I've met many assholes and I'm sure you aren't one. You're a kind person that wouldn't even hurt a fly."Okay, that one stung. I might not hurt flies, but I hurt dicks like Shawn.
Jessica put her head on my broad shoulder.
"Look!" I boomed, pointing in the horizon.
"Is that a....." Jessica said in awe.
"Yup."
A shooting star flew past the beautiful moon. "Make a wish." Jessica whispered in my ear.Huh. What could I wish for? A happy family? How many times have I wished for that and it never came true? Never. How about I wish that Maxwell wasn't such an idiot? To tell the truth, that one was really tempting. My wish is.....
My train of thoughts were interrupted by soft breathing on my shoulder. Jessica fell asleep. I smiled, not knowing why. I slowly got off the chair and put my right hand by her back, left hand behind her knees and carried her to her bed. When I put her on her bed I looked at her face, her beautiful face. Her black hair, how peaceful she looked when sleeping.
Yes, my wish is to be with her.
Hey, hey, hey! I apologise for a short chapter but the exams is keeping me quite busy. I promise and swear to the river Styx (if any of you know where that line comes from, clap hands for yourself *clapping hands*) that I'll make a chapter much longer next time and much more chapters. Vote and comment if you like this book. So from me and Chad we say "Go Psycho!"
