My jaw literally dropped when she said, "You look handsome tonight."
"Y...y...you too. I mean not handsome...but.....wow. You are so beautiful to night." I stammered.

Her smile made the room seem brighter. Not even the clapping registered until now. "Welcome, welcome!" Joshua said cheerfully on the stage. "I am glad all of you wonderful people came here tonight."

Joshua wore a sparkly tuxedo with a pair of church shoes like mine. "The drinks is on the table on my right, but the staff will be serving you tonight. As for those three teenagers....." He pointed at Maxwell, Jessica and I. "......Don't tell your parents that you drank alcohol tonight, eh?"

All the adults busted out in laughter. "Enjoy the night folks!"

Joshua went off the stage and took a lonely dame's hand for a dance as soon as a song came on. That reminds me........

I held out my hand towards Jessica. "Care to dance?"
Jessica's eyes sparkled. "I'd love to."

She took my hand. I noticed that a 1940's song came on. "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire."

Before I could ask Max if he would be okay to be alone for a while, I saw him walking towards the table that piled with alcohol.

At least he won't get into trouble......... I hope.

Jessica and I walked hand in hand to the dance floor and done a slow dance. Like on the ballroom channel, I put my right hand by her waist, my left hand locked with hers. Every step we took was a painting in motion.

Jessica's dress flowed as I gave her the time of her life. My feet was parallel to hers, yet our bodies stayed in one place. We stared into each others eyes for what seemed like eternity. Our bodies went on autopilot so that we could continue staring into each others eyes.

My heart was pumping fast, with some kind of feeling that I have never felt before. It felt so pleasant and happy. What if this is what I was looking for my entire life? Is this love?

"Jessica....." I said softly.
"Yes?"
"I want to ask you something.
" What is it?"
"You are an amazing person. The best thing that happened in my life. For the first time in forever I can finally say that I'm happy. Do you-"

"Okay folks!" Joshua interrupted.

AGAIN?!?!

"Before I forget, the videos of yesterday's game is here at the front. That is all for now."

Again with the pointless interruptions! I mentally sighed. I should have expected this, knowing how cruel life can be.

"Chad?" Jessica peeped. "You were saying?"

I wanted to tell her. I wanted to tell her how I felt towards her. I opened my mouth but choked on fear, losing all of my built-up courage. My stomach churned and twisted in all kinds of directions, my heart nearly broke my ribcage and my fingers tingled.

"Ah, it's nothing." I lied. I just lost all of my courage in the blink of an eye.

"You sure Chad? I mean, if its important....."
"It's fine. Really."

When the old-school song ended I breathed a sigh of relief. I couldn't stand another minute of that song. Though it's got a catch to it......

"Phew. Ladies and gents, are you having a good time?" Joshua asked on the microphone as he stood on the stage of Rondor Ball. The adults went wild with 'yes'. "Good! But, uh, let's get something up to speed, yes?"

The adults mumbled but nodded their heads in approval. "Alright-y! Kids, you owe me one..."

"When your legs don't work like they used to before......"
