"OW!"
Sky ran towards the voice and without further ado he jumped and kicked the entity with his knee. The entity was knocked down behind.
"Who are you?!"
Sky grabbed his collar and pulled off his mask.
"Sig?" Sky let go of the man's collar and stood up.
"Help me up, khun, please." Sky rolled his eyes as he held out his hand. Sig pulled his hand to get up. "My stomach hurt,"
"Serve you right, nong!" Sky growled. "I can't believe you followed me here,"
"Khun, your father asked me to keep track of you,"
"I'm fine here," Sky sighed, his hand pushed the strand of hair near his eyes. "I'm trained enough to not need a bodyguard anymore," Sig looked down on his own shoes. "Tell my father that if you pulled this stunt again, you have to enrol into school first,"
Sig nodded down, figuring that he made his young master cross. Sky watched Sig for a while.
"I'm tired. I'm going to lie down,"
"Right," Sig followed as Sky started walking again.
"And why are you still following me?"
"I'm asked to make sure you're safe in the apartment," Sky rolled his eyes again. This was getting out of hand. He hated it when his father sent impromptu enforcement like this. He was well trained in combat too, and he was even better than some of his bodyguards. His instinct was still as sharp as his last practice. Even when he left to go to medical school, he always makes sure to return home to retrain his body.
"Nong Sig, do you want me to kick you again?"
"I don't want the boy to follow you again, Khun Sky," Sky turned, amused by the mention.
"What boy?"
"The one you talked to at the hall."
"Why? Why should you follow me to make sure he doesn't follow me?" Sig looked around before answering.
"Your father said, the boy looked familiar. He wanted me to keep an eye on him,"
"Familiar?" Sig nodded. "Interesting,"
"Why khun said he was interesting?"
"None of your business." Sig pouted. Sky wanted to laugh but he didn't want to give the impression that he was relieved it was Sig who had been following him. He had been in danger quite so many times that he became a paranoid once. He'd pass through the phase and now the only hope he had in life was just to go on with whatever he has right now. He battled death quite a few times, kidnappings with impressive amounts of number and he still lived. His brother also gone through the same situation but he was calmer and more dangerous than he could ever be.
"Khun, Khun, please tell me, Khun," Sky shook his head. Sig was the busybody bodyguard who liked to poke his nose on other's business. He was close to Sig, as his father always assigned him as his main bodyguard. It felt like long time ago. Sky acknowledges Sig's skills as a bodyguard but he couldn't help it but getting easily annoyed by Sig's clumsy demeanour.
"No, Sig, you will expose me here,"
"Why would you want to hide who you are? Khun, being an heir..."
"Shhh!!!!" Sky jumped and put a hand on Sig's mouth. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?" his eyes went as wide as saucer.
"I'm sorry, Khun...!" Sig put both his palms together and bowed down with knees on the ground.
"Get up, you fool!" Sky shook his head. It was always issues like this that brought headache to him. Sig was a quite an idiot in himself, but it was profound that he put a lot of pride in his work as Sky's bodyguard.
Well, used to.
Sky sighed silently.
"Come on, I'll bring you back to my apartment,"
"Wow, it's big," Sig was impressed when he entered the room with Sky. Sky smiled, he was amused to see how easily Sig's mood changed. "You live here alone? No roommate?"
"You think my father would allow a roommate?" Sig shrugged.
"I have one roommate,"
"Are you an heir?"
"No, sir," Sig suddenly saluted. Sky shook his head and pulled out a cold-water bottle from the fridge. He poured the content into a glass and held it out to Sig.
"You must be exhausted after all the stalking," Sig nodded as he drank from the glass. His look of relief pleased Sky. "You can go home after you're done here,"
"But..."
"I don't need a babysitter anymore, Sig. I can live by myself, thank you very much,"
"But your father asked me to follow you and the boy,"
"Prapai?" Sig nodded, clearly confused when Sky knew his name. "What is wrong with father?" Sky leaned on the chair, watching Sig finished his glass of water. "I don't think stalking him would do any good,"
"Haaaa, that's what make you naïve, khun Sky!" Sig snapped his fingers and immediately Sky was annoyed by it but waited for what Sig had to say about it. "I asked the other guards about Prapai, they said he looked a lot like the heir of that family."
That family?
Sig nodded as if he could hear what Sky was thinking.
"That's why your father wasn't keen to let you here,"
"That's nonsense, Sig. I've seen the athletes who came here, all of them are way too involved in sports to be busy with family matters,"
"And what about you? How do you end up here?" Sig asked the smart question, Sky credited him for that. He might be here as a physician trainee, but how about his family matter that he needs to settle when he's out in the field. "See? That's why I'm worried."
"Stop acting like a babysitter. I'm a full-grown man, with a full-time job,"
"But still didn't guarantee your safety, Khun Sky." Sig bowed down as he reminisced how he stayed for weeks at the hospital for Sky who fought for his life. "Once they knew who you are, there's no guarantee you'll be safe. Once your father knew people keep track on you, he will call you home," Sky rolled his eyes.
"I'm safe here, Sig. Don't worry." Sky reassured Sig again even when his heart didn't agree fully to it.
