"Am I allowed to ask questions?" Prapai voiced out when they were in Sky's apartment. Sky was applying dressing to the cut on his face. Sky didn't reply, and he hadn't answer any of Prapai's query when they were in Prapai's rented car on the way home. "Why don't you say anything about it?"
"I don't have anything to clarify," Sky said with a cold tone.
"They were chasing you like their life depended on it." Prapai's tone was urgent – because he needed to know. Watching Sky from the side-line as they ran, and watching them dragged Sky as if he was a ragdoll scared the shit out of him. He glanced at the reddish mark on Sky's neck, where he was dragged by the collar ruthlessly. Prapai noticed Sky's wrist had old scars.
How could he end up here?
Sky stood up and washed his hand. He still didn't say anything about the incident. His face was flat out cold, like it was just a day-to-day occurrence to him. Prapai leaned on the couch, his eyes still locked on Sky. Prapai might be younger but he reads people better than most. It might be because he was taught in the subject and probably because of his past experiences. Whenever he met Sky, he was intrigued but had never had a chance to know him that well.
Prapai got up and walked towards Sky. Sky was washing something in the sink – probably just wanted to avoid his questions. He put his arms around Sky's waist and leaned his chin on Sky's right shoulder. The doctor smelled so good. Despite the bruises on Sky's neck, his skin was flawless. Prapai sniffed into his ear, and heard Sky groaned.
"Prapai..."
"Hmm...?" he could get used to this smell. He wanted to inhale the scent and memorise it, brings it to his sleep if he could. He wanted to consume Sky whole, wanting to know what's going on with Sky and be his protector.
"You should go home." Sky was stoic.
"I don't want to..." Prapai whined.
"What should I do to make you leave?"
"Dr Sky..." Prapai closed his eyes as he tightened his hold on Sky. Sky fits him well. "I want to be with you tonight. You're still not safe,"
"Nong Pai...it's okay. I'll handle it myself,"
"No..." Prapai pouted as he kept sniffing Sky's intoxicating scent. He started to kiss the doctor's neck, his lips hungered for more reaction from the shorter guy.
"It's going to be dangerous, nong Pai." Sky turned around in Prapai's embrace. Their lips almost touched but Sky was quick to hold Prapai's cheek before he advanced. "I'm worried of your safety. I can take care of myself, but I can't guarantee yours when it comes to this." Sky stared into Prapai's eyes, Prapai could forever lost in his amber eyes.
"I can protect you."
"No, you can't." Sky pushed Prapai gently and kissed his cheek. "Please, Prapai..."
Prapai was at loss of words. He wanted to argue more but somebody knocked on the door. Sky shoved Prapai more harshly this time that he almost fell backward. He walked to the door and opened it.
Sig entered, looking as flustered as he was when he first arrived.
"Hey," Sky allowed him in.
"Khun Sky, I already told your father about..."
"Prapai, please can you leave us alone?" Sky cut him off, his eyes darted to Prapai. Prapai gulped as Sig just realised that he was in the same room.
"But Doc Sky..."
"Good night," Sky turned his back towards Prapai and that was the moment Prapai knew that Sky was being serious. Prapai sighed silently and left the apartment with a heavy heart.
