Sky busied himself with work when Prapai took the rest that he needed the most. He could feel the days were a bit more boring than usual because Prapai was absent. The casual occasional messages that Prapai texted him brought smiles to him. Sky usually replied with snarkier remarks but deep down he was relieved when he hears from him.
At least, he knew Prapai was safe at home or wherever he was when he was not with him.
Sky put down the last record of a patient that met him that day on the table. Rain already went home with Chef Phayu – they apparently had been in a relationship for quite some time before Sky arrived. He glanced at the calendar on the table, the sick leave was coming to an end and Prapai would return to play in two days.
And he not yet dealt with the situation with Father because of the piling work.
Sky massaged his forehead.
During Prapai absence, he frequented the volleyball court and saw no hooligans there. It was obvious they were there to have a look at Prapai. There were no other hooligans anywhere in the centre too. He asked Rain about previous thugs, and he told him that those cases were settled before he came.
Sky : what do you want Father? Why couldn't you just leave me alone here?
Father : what are you talking about?
Sky : come on, Father. You know what I'm talking about.
Father : I don't.
Sky : Father, I thought I told you before don't bother me when I'm in the centre. I'm trying to be a sports physician and you're holding me back. Please ask those thugs to leave.
Father : Sky, I don't know what you're talking about. Please, love, come home and we can talk about it.
Sky : I don't want to go back home. I'm drowned here, Father. Please just ask those thugs to not bother me.
Father : I already asked Sig to take care of you, Sky. Should I send more?
Sky : No, Father. That's not it. Sig is...alright, Sig is helping, but it's not the issue here.
Sky sighed. What can he do now?
So, Sky had no other choice than returned home to talk with his father. Father was quite surprised even when he expected his son would meet him soon after the conversation.
"Are you having a good time there?" Father asked when both sat down for a luncheon. Father gestured for the helpers to bring the meal for Sky, even when the younger guy was not in the mood for it. He wanted to talk with Father, asked him to leave him out of family business while he's pursuing his master degree and he'll return if Father's able to fulfil that wish.
"I wish," Sky rolled his eyes and Father chuckled lightly.
"You are snarky,"
"Phi is snarkier." Sky retorted and Father's face changed a bit but Sky couldn't care less. His brother was still in the family business and he was even nastier than Father. "Father,"
"Yes?" Father was scooping the egg in the soy sauce broth into his plate.
"Please leave my centre alone,"
Father's gaze met Sky's. Father swallowed.
"Who are you protecting?"
"My clients. The athletes." Father watched Sky, his eyes were searching for the truth.
