He's autistic. I've seen a couple things about this before. Once,I saw a small video on YT and the second one was found in a friend's headcannon book. The same friend suggested it a while back so, I'm gonna put it here and provide evidence. Credit goes to 1-800_P0T4SSIUM/TangledUpGaming for the idea and several others I'mma try to post in here eventually.

So, I mentioned Pap was autistic, right? Here's why I agree with this. We rarely see him or hear about him cooking anything other than spaghetti. But he never actually eats it. He mainly makes spaghetti for the other monsters to enjoy. Another reason why I think he might be autistic is the way he stomps when we see him argue with Sans. As an autistic myself, I would say this is a stimming behavior he has when he gets angry or overwhelmed. I have a few myself, like rolling a ribbon or sketching which is the more productive and beautiful of my stims.

I can also see it in how he speaks or talks about his interests. You know those action figures in his room? Yeah, that's something that autistic adults can do. Even I'd he's not autistic, there's a good chance he's a nerd of some kind. Why? Because nerds and geeks collect similar things.

So, if we look at Pap's character, personality, and behaviors, we can see plenty of reasons why he might be autistic. Toby really went for that inclusion I guess. I mean, we already have LGBTQ+ representation so why not have mentally disabled representation?
