July 7th, 2004 - Harlem, New York
Christopher Brown.
"You talk to 'lil bit lately?" I handed Raul a five for a pack of Marlboro.
"Can't say. I promised her. What happened between you two?" Raul sighed heavily, handing me the cigarette box. I could tell dude was a little disappointed in me for smoking cigarettes. But I've been doing it for a while now, helps relieve stress.
"Long ass story, but I'ma tell you anyways.. 'Lil bit saw me about to murk this nigga, she saw a side of me I never intended or ever wanted her to see man. And I fuckin' lost her man! I lost the only thing that helps me breathe every damn day!" I kicked the counter top in anger. Feigning for myself without Phabi feels like the hardest thing to do.
"I have a feeling she'll be talking to you soon.. She misses you Chris." Raul said as he sat with me in front of his corner store, smoking a losie with me.
"Ha. Bullshit." I exhaled the smoke through my nose.
"Okay.." Raul inhaled his.
"What are you doing Chris? You gotta keep pushing forward. Everything will all play out." Raul added.
"Mhm.." I hummed when my phone rang.
"Talk to me.." My New York native slipped.
"Say thug, how about the new supply came in early with a token of appreciation from the supplier because of our loyalty. Nigga we got duffel bags of money down here with our fuckin' names on it b! Get 'cho ass down here thug!" Austin spoke mad fast in an excited tone.
"Ujvall sent us money?" I questioned to make sure I heard right.
"Yup nigga, yours down here waiting on you. He even got something for your 'lil momma. Cause you know Ujvall loves him some damn Phabi ever since he met her." Austin boasted, I heard commotion in the background.
"You know Phabi and I aren't friends anymore right?"
"Yeah you are." Raul butted in and I pushed him playfully, sucking my teeth. He laughed and I did too.
"Fuck was you gon' tell me this? I was wondering why she was over here without you yesterday.." Austin spoke in a little confusion.
"Well, I'm on my way b. Aight?" I told him, standing up, I dapped Raul goodbye in the process.
"Cool, I got mad love for you man.. See you when you get here." Austin replied.
"Aight man, likewise." I hung up, I was on my way.
"Looks like our time's been cut short. I'll catch you later though Raul." I called walking backwards too talk to him.
"Bye Chris!" He yelled back to me.
And with that, I turned around and started jogging in the direction of the bus stop.
The trap house isn't that far, but I don't feel like walking, the, eleven blocks to get there. Plus he got,Phabi something so I'm gonna have to catch the bus back.
In no time I was on the metro about to get there. I stood holding onto the balancing pole since there were no seats. I started thinking about Phabi and how she's doing. She's been ignoring the hell outta me. Especially hanging with this really flirtatious redhead. But I only seen them together two times. She broke the sidekick, so I can't text her. I bought her another one and left it on her doorstep. Only to get that bitch returned in front of mine. She's been so damn cold to me. I don't blame 'lil bit not one bit. But damn I miss her.. I miss her laugh and shit. A nigga sprung over someone who clearly ain't concerned about me.
