Xavier And The Order of Malechai

Chapter two: Sure has a lot to hide

I finally managed to write the second chapter, enjoy... ✌️

"What do you want" Xavier heard an annoyed voice ask as he knocked on the door of the teacher whose name had been written on the paper that stated which class he was supposed to  remain in for detention, "come in" the annoyed voice said as he made his way in to be met by a handsome twenty four year old looking male teacher leaning his head on his left hand as he graded some test papers, "how can I help you?" he asked as he kept starring at the test papers and sighing as soon as he marked a question, "I'm here for detention" Xavier said slowly but surely walking towards his desk as the teacher turned his head to look at him as though he didn't believe him, "detention? you? Yeah sure kid" he chuckled and went back to grading the papers as Xavier stood in front of him then he looked at Xavier once more, "wait you're serious?" he asked putting down his pen, "what did you do" the teacher asked as Xavier handed him the piece of paper in his hand, "I didn't do it" he said as the teacher read the paper, "yeah i believe you" the teacher said, "you do, why?" Xavier asked, "you don't look like you would hurt a fly and I've never seen you here before meaning you're new which also means you were framed but the question is, what did you do to make the football team angry" said the teacher placing down the paper then he stood up and sat on the edge of his desk with his arms folded, "wait what, how'd you know it was them" Xavier asked placing his bag on one of the desks, "I've been here for 3 years kid, I've seen things, so?" he remained in his position with his arms still folded, "durimg lunch the coach of the football team asked to come try out tomorrow" Xavier said, "ohh" the teacher let out another chuckle, "you intimidate them, well, good for you" he said going back to his seat, "they're intimidated?" Xavier asked then he rubbed his eyebrows together and let out a small laugh, "that's why" he said to himself, "yeah, well I can't let you leave now but school will be over in the next thirty minutes so just sit down and you can leave then" the teacher said then he went back to grading the test papers on his desk, "oh, thanks Mr... " Xavier said taking a seat, "Rogers" the teacher said, "and you're welcome...", "Xavier" he said as the teacher nodded his head once while he revealed a small smile then the two sat in silence.

It was later on that day and Xavier had been walking home with his earphones on while he thought about his first day at school, most of the people he'd met were jerks, some more than others, but he was glad he met one person he thinks might have a heart, he decided to pass through the part of the town that mostly had office buildings to try and see if there were any fun places he could hang out at, on his way he saw a few karate dojos, a few diners, an arcade, a park and a huge grocery store,

He was about to turn on a road that led to the part of town that mostly had houses when a grey furry husky brushed against his leg and stared at him before it took off and ran away, not what he usually did but after noticing the collar on the husky he began chasing it so he could see if it was lost and needed to find its way home,

He kept chasing it through town and took a few breathers every now and then then he began chasing it again until the dog led him into the forest, he didn't notice where he was until the do stopped running in a tiny open spot in he middle of the forest, he stopped in front of the dog, kneeled and brushed it's furr, "you're quite a runner aren't you" he said letting out a small laugh while he brushed the dog, "what's your name" Xavier asked as he searched the husky's collar but he couldn't find anything that seemed to be a name or owners details, "there's nothing written on your collar, are you lost" he asked as the dog tilted his head in confusion and stuck out it's tongue while Xavier laughed, he looked up and looked around the field of trees he had been standing in then he noticed an M on one of the trees, his first thought was maybe some couple wrote their initials on the tree but then there'd have to be more than one letter,

He stood up and checked his phone for time then he saw another M mark on another tree, "let's get going nameless dog" he said walking away then he heard a sharp but calm female voice say, "his name is Al" he looked back to see a young warrior looking lady dressed in all black clothing with a few daggers attached to her suit, "woah!" Xavier screamed, "who the hell are you" he said trying to calm his breaths while the husky ran towards the lady, "I'm Vena, and you might be?" she asked with an uncertain smile, "X...av...ier" he said slowly backing away, "well, thank you Xavier for bringing Al back but you shouldn't be here, it is not safe" she said, "I didn't bring him back, he led me here and what do you mean it's not safe?" Xavier asked now slowly moving forward, "I cant really say but you really must get going" Vena said, "okay" Xavier began walking away by before he could leave the small open spot he noticed a third mark on another tree, "hey wait" Vena looked back, "Do you know what these M marks are" Xavier asked as a confused and worried expression grew on Vena's face, "you can see the marks" she asked worryingly, "yeah, should I not be able too" he asked with a small smile, "no, you shouldn't" Vena let out a worried breath, "you need to get ou of here, now" she said pulling Xavier's arm then pulled him as she ran towards the exit of the forest,

"what's going on" Xavier asked once they exited the forest, "those marks you saw in there, they are a sign of evil, whenever you see them, it means you must run, you hear me" Vena said, "evil, what are you talking about" Xavier asked confusedly, "Do you heare Xavier" Vena screamed, "yeah, I do, no need to shout" Xavier said rubbing his ear, "I'm sorry , we just can't lose another one, not now" she said, "another what, you know most of the things you've said are not making sense" Xavier said, "I cant explain now, meet me here tomorrow" Vena said, "okay, wait... Where's Al" Xavier asked after realizing the husky was knowhere to be seen, "he's fine, you go home" Vena said as Xavier tightened his grip on his bag, then he slowly began to walk away, "oh and Xavier" he looked back, "you never saw me" she said as Xavier nodded then she disappeared into the forest.

By it had gotten a bit dark and Xavier walked through the door to be met with an angry Rachel anxiously awaiting him, "where have you been, i got here an hour ago and you were not home, you know how worried I was" she yelled, "I know and I'm so sorry mom, I just...got a little lost" Xavier said walking towards his mom then he pulled her into a warm hug, "you need to be more careful honey" Rachel said embracing her son, "I cant lose you too" she said as Xavier hugged her tighter, "I know and im really sorry" he said, "go freshen up and come down for some supper" Rachel said letting go of Xavier then he walked upstairs and quickly got changed before heading down for dinner,

"So how was your first day as Sheriff" Xavier asked as he and his mother dined, "quite interesting, there was a dead body" she said, "what, where" Xavier asked in curiosity, "the Pine Falls Forest" she said as Xavier's facial expression changed, "really?" he asked remembering the lady he'd met earlier on, "yeah, quite interesting but im not telling you any details" she said smiling, "oh come on" Xavier said,

Rachel knew her son loves to hear about her daily adventures as a cop and even though she also knew he was doing it so that she never thought she was losing him as he grew up, she appreciated his efforts,

"im still upset at you" Rachel said laughing then the two kept eating their supper and laughed as they normally would until they finished eating.

Xavier laid in his bed thinking about his earlier encounter, and here he though his first day at school was boring and blend, he kept dwelling on Vena's words and what she called the marks of evil, not only that but also a dead body had been found in the same forest, it had quite a lot to hide, he thought and drifted off to sleep.

That chapter took me quite a while to write, i wasn't sure what should happen next but a friend of mine said i shouldn't ruh creativity and she was right, I just needed some time so this chapter was dedicated to her,
