Final Act

"What is magic?..Magic is deception but deception is designed to delight, to entertain, to inspire.It's about believing" Daniel.

"Faith" Merritt.

"Trust" Henely.

"Without those qualities, magic as an art form would no longer exist" Me.

"But what happens when these qualities are not used for their higher purpose, and instead their used to cheat and lie" Henely.

"And instead their used for personal gain, greed, well then it's no longer magic." Daniel.

"It's a crime" Merritt and I chorused, walking into frame with Henely.

"So tonight for our final act, your going to help us, set a few things right" Henely grabbed me hand and smiled at me before focusing back on the camera.

"Showtime" Merritt finished rubbing his hands together before smirking and picking me up, and whisking me away to the elevator. I never seem to get bored with this man or lose the smile from my face. We were all standing in our own corner in the elevator, getting our last thoughts and nerves out before the action.

"Daniel" I wasn't expecting Mer to suddenly speak up.

"Yeah?" By the look on daniel's face,neither was he.

"Um as our..let's call it "Year of living dangerously" comes to a close, a rare moment of vulnerability, i'd like to express a sentiment to you and our relationship" Henely came over to join me in my giggling corner to see where Merritt was going to go with this.

"Okay.."

"Well when I first met you I uh thought you kind of uh were a dick." Me and Henely couldnt keep in our silent laughter as we grasped eachother's hands. Over the time we've spent with eachother, we've roped Merritt in on our "let's make fun of Daniel party"

"And?" Henely made out between her laughs.

"Oh no..that's it." Merritt had the most dead serious look on his face.

"That's very nice, i'm very touched"

"From the heart"

"Yeah I didn't tell you where I was touched"

"He doesn't get touched much of anywhere" I muttered to Henely.

"Oh god what are we gonna do when this is over?" Henely asked the one question I didn't have the answer too.

"We're on our own, the instructions run out after the show"

I mockingly raised my hand. "Girl Group?"

They all shared a little laugh before Henely continued. "Even if there is no eye and we were totally played, spend the next 20 years in jail, I just wanna say that..."

"Yeah I know, me too"

"Me three"

"I guess me four, even though I only really enjoy Jessica's presence."

I watched as the cops tackled the mannequins on the building opposite us and laughed at their stupidity.

"Hello New York! Thank you for the magic, and for being such an incredible and dedicated audience. But unfortanately like all the other things, it must come to an end." Henely ever so graciously started off.

"And so we would like to start off our show tonight.."Daniel cut in.

"By saying goodbye." After saying his peice, Mer grabbed me by the waist, and quite frankly i dont think you could slip a peice of paper between us.

"All we wanted was to bring the world to a magic show" I smiled at the crowd.

"And bring a little magic back to the world" Daniel again.

We all joined hands and dissapeared from sight.

"This has been one hell of a ride for all of us, but it's time for us to dissapear" Merritt grabbed my hand and got ready to run with me.

"So goodnight New York, and thank you for beleiving in us" And as I finished us off, we started running. As we reached the end, our bodies turned into money with our faces on it, showering down onto the people below.

Yet as New York basked in the excitement from the show, we're running across roof tops.

Walking out of the subways, and seeing everyone and everything involving us. I shed a few tears before looking at the sky. "I understand now dad, I understand why this life was so important to you and why you loved it so much." I whispered while holdin0g the locket under my shirt. I looked up to see the team looking at me with smiles on their faces.

"You know he's proud of you darling" Merritt took my hand and rubbed circles on the back of it.

"Yeah..yeah i know."
