Scrolling through my for you page on tiktok, kevin's contact name suddenly pops up on my screen, making me answer it right away.

"Aye, yu remember where yu supposed to be goin?" He asked on the phone.

"Uhh, yeah why?"

"Where is it den?" He asked in a challenging voice.

"The party is at your house, right?"

"Look at chu remembering things but aye, you comin to ma shit doe?"

"I guess..."

"Bett, Show up at 7." He said sounding satisfied.

"Okay." He hangs up the phone, leaving me in my thoughts.

I guess I don't have a choice but to go and if I didn't go, he would be pissed and maybe start giving me the silent treatment, I don't know.

Here's the hard part though, I gotta figure out what to wear for tomorrow...Maybe mom can use some help?

"Mom?" I knocked on her shared room door and she wasted no time telling me to come in as I shut the door behind me.

"Yes hun?"

"This question might be weird coming from me but..could you perhaps help me find a good outfit to wear for tomorrow?" I hesitantly asked.

"What's happening tomorrow? It's saturday." She squints her eyes at me in suspicion.

"Please don't get mad...it's actually a friend of mine's birthday tomorrow an-" I lied.

"Friend? When did you get a friend?" She widened her eyes at my words.

"Long ago but let's not get into that, could you help me?"

"Wait, are you sure this friend of yours is your fr-"
