In the camp that night, the hardworking apes began to go grow weary and angry. Questioning the guards and the elders on the whereabouts of their leader.

"Where is Caesar?!?"

"He said he would help us!"

"Where is he?!?"

"Where is Caesar?!?"

The hardworking apes chanted and raved at the gorilla guards, throwing down their chisels and hammers in retaliation.

"We're tired of being whipped!"

"Why has Caesar abandoned us?!?"

"Tell us where he is!"

"Stop!" spoke Dr. Zaius above the crowd as a hush fell over it "I know you are all frustrated by your leader's sudden disappearance. I am afraid to inform you that your leader has been out there risking his life AND YOURS to search for a human!"

This news startled many of the apes. As they began to murmur Zaius spoke up once again.

"Caesar has abandoned you! Leaving you all to break yourselves to keep his father's image alive. Does that sound like a gracious leader to you?"

The apes continued murmuring. Some of them believed what Zaius said to be true. Others still believed that Caesar had a good reason to be away. And some could not decide on what to believe.

"Lies!"

The crowd of apes hushed their murmurs and looked towards the ape who stood up to speak against Zaius.

"My sister Zira is out there as well, and I'm sure that she and Caesar have stayed gone for so long for our wellbeing. She would not abandon her family. As I'm sure Ceasar would not either."

"Ziwe." spoke Zaius "Brother of Zira. How do you know that she has betrayed you as well."

"Because I was there the night she left." started Ziwe "I asked her where she was going. She went to follow Caesar because she trusted in him. My sister would not put her trust in just anyone. She could see the good in others."

"Your sister was naive." stated Zaius as the gorilla guards aimed their firearms at the crowd of apes.

"What is this?" questioned Ziwe.

"It's retribution." answered Zaius.

The crowd of apes looked to one another, wondering whether to denounce Caesar in order to live or to keep their faith in their leader. As Zaius walked away few apes joined behind him, leaving the rest behind to be annihilated, by Kong.

"Move it you stupid ape!" ordered one of the guards leading Kong to the camp, using the tasers to make him go faster.

Kong, trying to keep calm kept moving with the guards, dragging him by the giant chains and ropes wrapped around his wrists, feet and neck. He felt defeated. He felt weaker and weaker every minute that inched by. He felt his aged body slowly doing him in, but before he and gorillas reached the camp, Zaius and Marcus, followed by the apes, approached.

"There's been a change of plans. Follow us to the ships." commanded Zaius.

"Have you informed Maximus?" asked one of the guards.

"Yes. Just before I got here."

"Where are we going?" asked Zira "This isn't the way to the campsite."

"No, we're heading for the ships." said Cornelius, realizing the path they had been following.

Through the air echoed the sounds of gunshots. The apes looked back at the direction of the gunshots, realizing that they were coming from the same direction the campsite was in.

"No..." whispered Zira, tearfully "Ziwe."

Zira shook herself out of the grip of guard holding her and ran back in the direction of the camp whilst being tailed by the guard.

"Zira come back here!" shouted Cornelius, before receiving a hard bump to the head from the butt of a rifle.

Cornelius fell to the leafy ground, barely awake. He could see before he closed his eyes the head of the giant being pulled by the hundreds of gorillas. His vision got darker and his body felt weak. Before he knew it he was out.
