it was a cold breezy afternoon in liyue, xiao was at venti's favorite restaurant, cold brew, when he happened to see him having some hot chocolate.
venti picked up his cup gently and gracefully, making sure to spill none of his drink. he caught the eye of xiao and xiao turned away swiftly, then observing the menu.
venti walked up to xiao and suggested their almond tofu. v:do you eat almond tofu. x:yes it's my favorite. v:cold brew's almond tofu is the best. x:okay? v:just wanted to let you know, you should try it morax. x:xiao. v:? x:call me xiao. v:you can call me venti,xiao!
xiao grunted realizing he just gave a bard he just met his name. he'd never done that, he'd never given away his name to just anyone, especially someone he just met. v:are you gonna just stare at me or are you gonna order. xiao then realized he was staring at venti and blushed.
x:y-yeah. uhm- i- i'll take almond tofu and- v:dandelion wine. he'll also take dandelion wine. x:what are you doing! xiao said under his breath to venti. v:that's it thank you. xiao looked at venti in disgust. x:did you just want me to pay for it. v:yes i forgot to get it. venti then smiled at xiao and his cheecks turned pink.
x:don't do that. v:do what x:smile... v:why, you like it! venti put on his biggest smile for xiao,he practically evaporated. by the time xiao was leaving, venti had his number. why he thought, why is this bard
changing you, why are you giving all this away to just some stupid bard you just met an hour ago. something about him warms my heart tho, it makes me feel good, HE makes me feel good. do i, like venti?!...
in that very moment xiao's knees started to feel weak and he fell to the ground on his hands and knees. venti looked at him in alert. v:xiao! xiao are you alright! x:venti... how long until we reach your house v:about 3 minutes x:can we go to your house instead v:of course. do you... uh- need some help x:yes please
xiao stood up with his legs still shakey and weak. he fell on venti trying to get up but still leaning on him slightly. v:you can lean on me. venti said pulling xiao down closer to him. x:thank you venti v:anything for a friend venti's mind:anything for my crush x:friend... v:what? x:nothing-
chapter 2: a night to remember
when they arrived at venti's house xiao couldn't help but wonder where a bard could afford this nice of a house. he wasn't gonna ask, he was going to wait until venti told him, hopefully it would be soon; xiao didn't like to wait. he was rather, impatient.
venti laid xiao down on his bed. x:thank you.. v:for what? x:for taking care of me. v:i'm just being kind. x:kind?...v:yeah friends are kind and caring to other friends, friends sometimes feel like family. x:family...
v:is this a disturbing subject for you?x:yeah kind of-v:ok i'll stop talking about it, sorry.x:it's fine, not many people know that i didn't grow up in a loving household.. v:yeah, me too. my parents just showered me in gifts as there way of showing love. they never actually cared for my well being. x:oh..
xiao paused. he had realized he just shared the darkest moments of his like to venti. he would have never shared that information with anyone it's like venti was the answer to all his problems. their problems were the same and venti's a good listener. maybe venti was the one for him.
v:i have a great idea. x:i'm listening. v:what if we went to a bar. x:no
and there they were, walking to one of venti's favorite bars. x:why do i listen to you. v:because you love me. indeed he did like him. little did that bard know.
