my facial expression changed from curious to scared to match his

my mind started flooding with questions
"maybe we ask zhongli?"
i suggested
"yeah, he's pretty wise"
xiao agreed
we rushed down the stairs with so many questions for zhongli
zhongli's pov:
i watched as both xiao and venti raced downstairs
they then stared going ham on questions
"one at a time boys"
they then looked at me..
then venti spoke
"me and xiao exist in an alternate dimension"
he started
"we don't know how to reverse whatever happened to us though"
xiao finished
"so how did this all start"
i said looking shocked and confused
venti took a breath and then said
"it started a few months ago, in me and xiao's dream we were in mondstat
mondstat was being destroyed and i saved xiao from a huge boulder,
gave him my name,
and then left.
in the morning we met up at his job,
we recognize each other but our profiles were unknown."
then it hit me
when i woke xiao up from that dream..
that dream.. was the awakening to their alternate world

"i can't believe it.."
they both stared at me waiting for me to explain
"this has only happened 5 times in the last century
what you guys are going through is something only a few people have experienced in their lifetime"
