The day started off with us all attending the mayors funeral. Unfortunately, someone had killed him off whilst he was in his coma. To be fair, the police should have monitored his room better because someone tried to kill him and failed so obviously the one who did it was going to make sure that he was dead.
I was standing next to Wednesday holding an umbrella as we watched as the mayors coffin being lowered into the ground. I watch as Wednesday scans the crowd obviously coming to the conclusion whoever killed him was there.
I subtly glance towards Miss Thornhill who is stood staring blankly at the grave emotionlessly and Tyler who keeps glancing towards Wednesday. If I was to hazard a guess at who was involved in the mayors death then it would certainly point towards those two. I still can't work out why Miss Thornhill is involved with the murderers or what her motive is.
I look over towards Xavier who is already staring at me and I give him a small smile as I walk over to him once I notice Wednesday walking into forest.
"You alright Princess?" Xavier asks as I put my umbrella down and he wraps his arm around me and pulls me into a hug under his umbrella.
"Never better" I reply with a smile as I look up at him as we begin walking back towards the bus to take us back to the academy.
"So, I was thinking we could spend the day together just hanging out" Xavier says with a grin as we enter the academy.
"Of course, I'd love to" I reply back with a smile
"Well, I've seen how much you like reading, so I thought we could spend some time in the nightshades library, I'm sure they won't notice if a few books disappear" Xavier says as he takes my hand and leads me towards the room.
"Oooo can I do it" I say happily as we walk up to the statue as the last time I entered Wednesday was the one who opened the door.
"Sure" Xavier says with a chuckle as I enthusiastically snap my fingers twice as the statue swings open and we walk into the passage.
Once we enter the room I immediately started running my hand along the shelves as I remembered a certain book that I had seen the last time I was in here.
Ah, there it is, 'A guide to poisonous plants and their antidotes'. After, Wednesday told me the story about what happened to her father and the reason the Gates boy died was due to nightshade poisoning, in which he was going to use to kill the entire school with it got me thinking.
If my suspicions are correct and his sister is actually alive instead of drowning overseas then what's to say that she doesn't want revenge on the school or to finish what her brother started.
