Laura pushed me back into my cell. I cried for Taylor, I only knew her for 1 minute.NOW
The next morning was a blur. My head was throbbing with pain. And my hand was burning from last nights scars. But there was no sun, no smell of bacon burning off the pan, no nothing. Just the smell of Taylor's dead body.
I can't believe she's dead."What happened to her!?" I hear outside from the room. "She's dead," I hear Laura's voice say. Then, there's dead nothing silence.
Muffled cries fill the room. I hear the door open. I run up from the cell, and peek behind the bars. Trying to get a glimpse of what was going on. Soon enough, Laura had her hand grasped on a mans collar. She pointed to Taylor's body. "See? She's dead. God, now just shut up!" Laura threw the man into the cell, with me. The man stumbled on the floor, but didn't dare to come back up. Laura stormed out, while he laid on the ground and began crying.
I huddled up in the corner, trying to stay as far as possible from him. Did he know Taylor?
Wait...
Is he Harry?"Harry?" I whispered. The man lifted his face from the ground slightly.
"How do you know my name?" He said getting up. Wiping off the tears from his face. I gulped. "Taylor talked about you to me. I knew her for a little bit, before she...you know."
Harry didn't say anything. He remained motionless. I couldn't even hear his breathing.
"She was my fiancé..."
I looked up from the ground. Studying Harry's face. I wanted to ask him why I was here. Why Taylor said I was the important one. But, Laura might kill Harry too. I've lost too much for now.
"She was a good person. I could tell the minute she started talking," I said. Harry stood steadily as I talked.
"How did you two meet?" I asked.
Harry looked at me carefully before saying anything. As if he was looking for some trust in me."We met in high school. We dated for 2 years. She went to Harvard, and then so did I. I can't imagine me being without her..." He gulped. I could tell he's never really parted without her.
"I always followed her. No matter what. And, when she told me she was moving here to be a doctor, I followed her. And eventually, we got married."I noticed I had already been crying.
"I'm sorry Harry..."Harry opened his mouth to say something, until the door opened again.
It was Claudia, wearing all white.
How racist."Celia?" She whispered to me in the darkness. It took me a second or two to respond. "Yeah?"
Claudia looked at me. A little weirder than usual. "C'mon, we gotta go."
I looked at Harry. He nodded his head. Claudia opened the cell door, and I walked out.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
Celia gave me a quick glance and looked back into the hall. "Home." She said blankly. "I'm taking you home."•••
