Y/n pov

We were all still walking and Addison and I were right behind the others but I still felt some type of presence coming from trees. "Addy can I ask you a favor?" I asked loud enough that only Addison could hear

"Sure n/n, what is it?" Addison asked and I stopped walking for a bit as Addison stopped as well while the others continued walking. I quickly made sure that the others were at a good enough distance before turning to Addison, pulling out the ember from my jacket's pocket.

"I want you to keep this" I said and Addison looked at me confused "why?" Addison asked "It's just for good measure" I said as I put the ember in her hand "are you sure? Cause it's more safer with you" Addison said and I nodded "I trust you Addy besides I'm already in enough danger and I don't want to risk it" I said and Addison nodded with understanding as she puts the ember in her jacket's pocket before we went to catch up with the others

Luckily when we returned to the others, nobody really noticed we were far behind as they continued talking. Everything was fine when suddenly vines started attacking us from under the ground. "Look out!" Carlos yelled as one of the vines tried grabbing him. We all pulled out our swords while trying to dodge the vines and I swing my sword cutting some of the vines that were attacking me but I didn't see a vine trying to grab me from behind

"N/n look out!" Evie said and Lonnie came behind me just in time to block the vine. "Told you were going to need my help" Lonnie said and I laughed a bit before we continued to fight

"Guys a little help!" Bree said as we saw some vines holding Bree in one place. We tried to help her but unfortunately we got caught in the vines too as it let us drop our swords. "so much for being on high alert" Uma said and I gave her a look that said 'now's not the time'

"Can't you guys use your lens or magic to break us out?" Zed asked and Addison and the aliens tried using there lens but it only glowed a bit "unfortunately not. our spark is extremely weak in this part of the forest" A-lan said

"Mal, Y/n maybe you can try" Ben said and Mal and I closed our eyes focusing on our magic as the vines came a bit loose but our magic was still weak causing us to stop the spell as the vines grew tight again "we can't. We're to weak" Mal said and I sighed

I was about to try again when suddenly I felt myself being pulled away from the others "Guys!" I shouted in panic and everyone turned to look at my direction "Y/n! / Star!" Everyone yelled in unison as I got pulled into the forest

When I was far away from the others the vines loosened and I was free. I was about to run back towards the others but a shadow figure stopped me "I wouldn't do that if I were you" the figure said as it came into the light and it was a tall short black haired guy with a red streak

I got into a fighting position glaring at the guy but then I noticed I was surrounded by a girl with black hair with a red streak and another guy that also have black hair but it was a bit longer like Carlos's length with a red streak as well

"Let me guess Veronica sent you" I said in a stern voice "she's smarter than she looks" the girl said smirking "what do you want from me?" I asked "isn't it obvious, Veronica wants you to join her" the long haired guy said

"Join her?" I repeated confused at what he meant "join her in taking over all of seabrook of course" the short haired guy said "now why would I ever join her? Last time I checked she attacked me and then turned my pack, friends and family into stone" I said sternly

"Well if you don't she could simply, I don't know.... kill them" the girl said and I glared at her "she wouldn't dare from what I know she needs me for whatever she's planning" I said smirking "perhaps but that doesn't mean she can't hurt you friends and precious mate" the short haired guy said and I was shocked
