Veronica pov
~at the vampire cave~

"Wyatt they hurt my friends and family because they're after me and I'm not going down without a fight" Y/n said and I rolled my eyes as I spied on them. "This Alpha really doesn't back down" Vincent said annoyed "what do you expect she is the Great Alpha" I said glaring at him

"Look why don't we just go after them now. Their on the way here anyways" Valtor said impatiently "no you idiot if we strike now they still have the upper hand" Vanna said "she's right Valtor. Their magic is still to strong enough for us to attack especially that alpha" Vincent said

"But we can't just let them get close to the cave! You heard them, they have the ember!" Valtor yelled "don't you think I know that!" Vincent yelled back "will you two be quiet for one second!" I yelled and the boys looked at me

"We need them to be in the forest far enough so that their magic and technology weakens, that way we can grab that stupid Alpha" I said looking at my friends "so what are you suggesting?" Vanna asked crossing her arms

"I want you guys to keep an eye on them and maybe even try to convince that Alpha to join us" I said "like that's ever going to work. I bet Wyatt, Wynter and Willa won't even leave her side for a second" Valtor said

"Maybe but I know you guys will figure something out" I said "we at least need some type of diversion to distract them so that they can stop moving for a bit" Vincent said and I got an idea

"You have a plan, don't you?" Vanna said smirking "Let's just say it's gonna be fun to watch" I said looking at the scepter

3rd person pov
~at the forest~

The gang and crew were walking around the forest and Y/n could feel her magic getting weaker as we entered the part of the forest that she had never seen before.

"Okay is it just me or does this part of the forest give you the creeps" Bree said holding Bonzo's hand tight "welcome to the vampires turf of the forest. It's naturally more darker here. that's why we never let the pups come near here" Wynter said

"I can see why" Jay said looking around the forest "come on, I have a feeling the more we stand around, the higher the chances of Veronica knowing we're in her turf" Willa said as everyone continued following the wolves while staying on high alert

"I have a question. how did Veronica recognize you guys when she attacked Y/n?" Addison asked and the wolves gave each other an uneasy looked but Willa decided to speak

"believe it or not we were actually friends with her a long time ago" she said not looking at anyone as they looked at her in shock but before they could ask anything Wyatt spoke

"We all met in the forest years ago before the war started. At the time Willa, Wynter and I were just pups and we were playing around the forest"

~start of story~

"Tag your it" Wyatt said as he and Wynter ran away while Willa chases after them "I'm gonna get you Wynter" Willa said running after Wynter. Wynter then looked behind her and saw that Willa wasn't there so she stopped running. Wynter looked around confused when suddenly Willa tackled her to the ground from behind "see I told you I would catch you" Willa said and the girls laughed

"Where's Wyatt?" Wynter asked noticing her best friend wasn't there "I don't know. let's go look for him" Willa said as she helped Wynter up from the ground. The girls then looked for Wyatt around the forest and began to worry as they couldn't find him "Wyatt! Come on brother this isn't funny!" Willa yelled worriedly

"Willa I think I found him!" Wynter said and Willa went to her side as they saw a figure standing in a distance "Wyatt! Don't scare us like that!" Willa yelled as the figure came closer but it wasn't just Wyatt, there was a girl with him. "Who are you? And what are you doing on our turf?" Willa asked protectively as she wolf out while Wynter held her shoulder making sure she doesn't do anything she will regret

"Willa calm down. I didn't see where I was going and almost fell off a cliff but this girl saved me with her magic" Wyatt said standing in front of the girl and Willa calmed down a bit but still glared at the girl "sorry I didn't mean to intrude. I was just wondering around the forest and got lost" the girl said peeking past Wyatt and the wolves noticed her fangs

"What are you? You don't look like a werewolf" Wynter asked "Oh I'm a vampire" the girl said and the wolves were shocked "a vampire!? Wyatt get away from her now!" Willa said grabbing her brother's arm pulling him to her side

"Don't worry I'm not here to hurt you. My parents told me about you werewolves but I didn't mean to enter your turf" the girl said holding up her hands up in surrender and the wolves looked at each other

"Guys she seems genuine I think we can trust her" Wyatt whispered so that Willa and Wynter could only hear him "no way we don't know what she's planning" Willa whispered back "Willa you never trust anyone and I have to agree with Wyatt on this one. She doesn't look like she would hurt us" Wynter whispered and Willa sighed

"Fine" Willa whispered reluctantly agreeing "What's you name?" Wynter asked as they look back at the girl "Veronica and yours?" Veronica asked "I'm Wyatt, this is my sister Willa and our best friend Wynter" Wyatt introduced while pointing at Willa and Wynter and Veronica smiled "nice to meet you. I can tell we're gonna be good friends" Veronica said smiling

When Wyatt finished telling the story everyone was in more shocked "what happened after that?" Eliza asked "well... we all became friends. Veronica was sweet and she introduced us to some of her friends. We even invited her to the Den after a lot begging to our parents and the elders, she also invited us to the vampire cave every now and then. Everything was great until..." Wynter said but drifting off at the last sentence

"Until what?" Evie asked "until we found out that she was only pretending to be our friend so that she can get information out of us about the moonstone and it's power" Willa said with a bit of anger "that's when they started the war?" Zed asked and the wolves nodded

"And It was all our fault" Wyatt said softly and Y/n took his hand "No it's not. She used your trust against you and you didn't see it coming. So it's not your fault, if anything it's her's" Y/n said

"Star's right. You didn't know what was going to happen" A-li said taking Wynter's hand "and you shouldn't blame yourselves on something that you couldn't control" A-spen said taking Willa's hand and wolves slightly smiled at their mates

"Thanks guys" the wolves said in unison but the sweet moment was interrupted by sounds coming from the forest
