Y/n pov

I woke up again in the middle of the night and sighed 'Stupid nightmares' I thought. I looked around to see that everyone was asleep and I so badly wanted to get away from everyone but I knew I couldn't since they would freak out

I sat up going threw my thoughts while looking at the moon but then I heard sounds coming from the forest. 'What the?' I thought as I got up from the ground and took out my sword

'Wyatt is so gonna be mad at me for this' I thought as I approached the area where the sound was coming from. I looked around the forest on high alert when suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and I was about to swing my sword at them but they stopped it with magic

"Whoa it's just me!" the person said and I realized it was Mal as I let out a Large breath "what are you doing up?" I asked putting my sword back on my belt "I saw you walking here and I followed you but why are you up?" Mal asked crossing her arms

"Non of your business" I said about to walk back towards the others but Mal grabbed my hand "Y/n, I'm your sister. I know when something's wrong" Mal said "firstly you're not my sister, Addison is and secondly there's nothing going on" I said getting out of her grip and started walking

"Are you just going to hate me all of your life?!" Mal yelled and I stopped in my tracks before turning to her "well what do you expect Mal! You just want me to welcome you in with open arms after everything you've done!" I yelled back

"I'm sorry okay! You have every right to be angry with me! I was just afraid!... I was afraid that mom would do the same things that she did to you, she will do to me! And I regret that decision everyday of my life!" Mal said and I was shocked

"Then if you regret it so badly!, why did you leave me every time during those hard days of my life!?" I asked though tears "I didn't know what to do n/n. I thought you needed space, I knew walking around the isle was comforting for you" Mal said

"But did you ever think I only did that because I felt alone Mal! I felt so alone whenever you and the gang went around the isle to steal things not thinking once about asking me if I wanted to join but no you just assumed I needed space!" I said and Mal looked at me sadly

"I didn't know you felt that way" Mal said sadly and I sighed thinking about what the others told me "but you also right, I can't keep blaming you for something you couldn't control. 'Mom' was a horrible person and just as scary. You were only surviving in your own way. I just wish I could do something to get her back in some way" I said looking at the ground

"You might not have to" Mal said and I looked at her confused "What do you mean?" I asked "she may have been turned into a lizard. It's a long story" Mal said smiling "service's her right" I said and we both laughed a bit

"You know, you can come to a college in Auradon. I'm sure they'll accept you. You can even stay with me" Mal said with a bit of hope in her voice and I sighed "I'm not going back Mal. My home is here, in this small town with the people I love. I don't belong in a kingdom surrounded by pretty pink princess and handsome princes. That's where you belong with Ben and the others" I said and Mal looked at me sadly

I then looked up at the stars while slightly smiling and Mal did the same as we took in it's beauty

Mal: I didn't know what you were going through
I thought that you were fine
Why did you have to hide? (Mal sang as she turned to look at me)

Y/n: I didn't want to let you down
But the truth is out
It's tearing me apart, not listening to my heart (I sang looking at her sadly and she nodded slightly before looking at the stars again)

Y/n: I really had to go

Mal: And I would never stop you (Mal sang looking back at me)

Y/n: Even though it changed

Mal: Nothing has to change

Both: And you can find me in the space between
Where two worlds come to meet

We can meet in the space between (we both sang as we took each other's hand and started walking a bit)

Y/n: And nothing can stay the same
It's growing pains (I sang sadly while walking)

Mal: Be proud of all the scars
They make you who you are (oh, woah) (Mal sang putting her hand on my shoulder and we stopped walking to look at each other)

Mal: I know you have to stay

Y/n: But I'll never really leave you

Mal: Nothing has to change

Y/n: Even though it changed

Both: And you can find me in the space between

Y/n: There are no words left to say

Mal: I know you gotta find your place

You're still in my heart it will always be you and me, yeah (we sang putting our foreheads together then lifted each other's hand)

Mal: You can find me in the space between (Mal sang as we started walking

Both: Where two worlds come to meet (we both sang as I peeked out from behind a tree before walking towards Mal)

Mal: I'll never be out of reach

Y/n: (I'll never be out of reach)

Mal: no

Mal: You'll never be alone

Y/n: No matter where you go

Both: We can meet in the space between, (we sang as we took each other's hand)

Y/n: yeah

Both: We can meet in the space between (we sang as I put my head on Mal's shoulder)

When we finished singing I looked up at Mal and smiled while lifting up my head. "I'm glad you found your place n/n and I really sorry about everything" Mal said

"It's still going to be hard for me to fully warm up to you Mal but I do forgive you" I said and Mal smiled as we hugged "come on let's head back, the sun is rising and we don't want the others to freak out" Mal said and I nodded as we headed back towards the other and I thought of one thing

'I'm glad to have my big sister back'
