Cupid was flying around happily on her way to see Bunny. Easter had just ended this year, it being a year after she and Jack became guardians. She wanted to check up on Bunny since she knew he would be planning for next Easter, even with it being another year away.
She made it to the warren without any trouble and looked around for him. But what really confused her was that it wasn't as active there. She then flew up a bit to catch Bunny, just laying under one of the trees and looking a little down. This concerned Cupid a bit since she knew he was always up for Easter preparations right after Easter, but figured she could cheer him up. She then landed on a branch and leaned against the trunk.
"You know, the last time I checked, Easter has just ended and the Easter Bunny would usually be working on next year's. You wouldn't happen to know where he is, would you?" she smirked lightly, getting his attention.
He lightly chuckled before pointing out, "He's taking a break for a minute. Maybe he realized he plans Easter too early."
Cupid then gasped dramatically and said, "Who are you and what have you done with Thumper?"
She then pretended to faint before her wings caught her and she landed on her feet. Bunny just shook his head with a slight smile.
"Wow. Usually I get you laughing to where you can't breathe. You okay?" she asked, sitting by him.
"Yeah. I'm fine," he nodded, obviously lying.
"Bunny, I've known you the longest out of all the guardians. I think I can tell when you're lying or not," Cupid pointed out.
Bunny sighed then requested, "You promise you won't laugh?"
"I promise," she agreed.
"Since you and Jack got together, I may have been a little...jealous," he admitted.
"Jealous how?" Cupid asked, confused.
"That you have someone as a life partner," Bunny clarified.
"Oh. So in other words, you're lonely," she guessed.
"Basically," he nodded then remarked, "It sounds stupid, doesn't it?"
"No. I mean, Jack would laugh and think so, but I'm not him. Look, even when I had you and the other guardians, I still felt I was missing something. Then I met Jack and I felt like I finally had everything I needed," Cupid said.
"You mean you re-met Jack," Bunny corrected with a smirk.
"True," she nodded with a chuckle then added, "But my point is it's natural to feel this way. But you know you've always got your little sis, who happens to be the Cupid...and not a baby in a diaper."
He laughed a bit then said, "Thanks, Cu."
"Anytime," Cupid said as they hugged then told him while standing up, "Well, I gotta get going."
"Another date with Jack?" Bunny smirked as he did the same.
"Well, I didn't want to say that after our conversation just now, but since you asked, yes," she said.
"Got it," he nodded then added as she was heading out, "Tell him he owes me for the blizzard in New York this year."
"Seriously?" Cupid asked, turning back to him.
"This surprises you?" Bunny wondered in amusement.
"To an extent. I thought he was done with full-on blizzards since '68," she pointed out.
"Think again," he remarked.
"Well, I'll do more than say he owes you," Cupid assured.
"Thanks, Sheila," Bunny saluted then thumped his foot.
A hole formed beside her, making her smile. She then took off in the sky and waved to Bunny before diving into the hole. She zipped through them with ease as Bunny sighed sadly before starting on next year's Easter preparations.
