Jack and Cupid continued walking down the beach, hand in hand. She then remembered something she hadn't told anyone about herself that she needed to let someone know.
"Jack," Cupid said.
"Yeah?" Jack asked.
"There's something I need to tell you and I haven't told anyone, not even Bunny," she replied seriously, them stopping.
"Okay," he replied, catching on.
"Well, you remember when Pitch told us the catch of being a Guardian and I was afraid if I became one and no one believed in me, I would go away completely?" Cupid reminded while hugging herself.
"Yeah?" Jack nodded.
"Well, there's more to it and I'm surprised he didn't mention it. But sometimes when I fly around to have people fall in love, with it being my strength, hate is my weakness," she explained, making Jack's eyes widen as she took a shaky breath, then she continued, "It only happens in a romantic based relationship, but there have been cases where if a breakup goes horrible, I get weaker and I'm in pain, but if they fix it, it ends on better terms, or enough time passes, I'm fine. But enough could...well, you get it. I'm just lucky love's stronger than hate and there's more love. That I know of."
"Why haven't you said anything to the others?" he asked worriedly, taking her hands.
"I don't know. Maybe because there were times I thought I was imagining it and they all have enough on their plates as it is. It's not a trust thing; it's me thinking since it's my problem, I should be the one to deal with it...alone," Cupid said, feeling tears come on.
"Why did you feel the need to tell me?" Jack wondered.
"Technically, I've known you longer than the others, even if there is a 300 year gap that we haven't seen each other. But with the others, it's different," she responded, wiping some tears away.
He pulled her in a hug, to which she accepted. He rubbed comforting circles on her back as she breathed shaky breaths into his shoulder.
"You need to tell the others. I know Bunny would want to know. If they knew, they wouldn't hesitate to protect you and make sure that didn't happen. I would definitely be there for you if I knew ahead of time," Jack said, they parted a bit, then he continued, "I hate that you thought you had keep this in. Just promise me you won't keep anything like that hidden anymore."
She knew it wasn't right to keep that inside; it was just hard. But she decided it would be right to let them know.
"Alright," Cupid nodded, he kissed her, she returned it, they parted, then she lightly joked, "Sorry for putting a damper on our date."
He chuckled and said, "You didn't. Dates can involve telling your partner things you never said before and it can be emotional. Trust me; it's fine."
She smiled then they noticed the northern lights, meaning North was summoning all the Guardians. The two looked at each other before flying toward it.
