Cameron: come on Carmen! Let's play outside!
Carmen: I'm coming! Im trying to get Ethen and Spence to come with us! Come on guys!
Ethen: mom can you tell Carmen to leave us alone.
Mom: go play with your sister boys. You guys need to get outside more anyways. Can you give these cookies to Oksana's mom? I made them to welcome the new baby!
Spence: sure mom.
Mom: be inside by the time your dad gets home!
Carmen: alright momma! Let's go guys! I can't wait to see oksana's new sister!
Ethen: come on Carmen. We're gonna go see her.
Carmen: yes!
Carmen and the boys walked next door to see oksana and her new baby sister.
Oksana: Carmen! The baby is here!
Carmen: yayyy! Can I see her?
Oksana: my mom said sure but we have to be quiet.
Carmen: alright.
Oksana: alright right through here.
Oksana's mom: hey kids.
Spence: here you go. Our mom made cookies to welcome the new baby.
Oksana's mom: thank you Spence. Tell your mom I said thank you.
Carmen: wow. She's so beautiful. What's her name?
Oksana: Mary. Isn't it such a pretty name?
Carmen: it really is. I love the name Mary.
Oksana: picked it out myself.
Carmen: I can't wait till I'm older and I can have a family with a ton of children anddd five dogs.
Oksana's mom: omg five dogs and a ton of children? Goodness. You are going to have a handful of chaos.
Carmen: I thrive in chaos. Can oksana come outside and play with us?
Oksana's mom: of course sweetheart. Oksana be home by the time the street lights come on.
Oksana: alright momma.
Carmen: let's play with the new chalk my mom bought.
Oksana: yes!
Oksana, Carmen, Cameron, Spence, and Ethen played with chalk, took turns on the swings, and played hide n seek in the woods.
Cameron: 1...2...3....20 ready or not here I come.
Cameron was counting during his turn in hide n seek. Cameron thought he saw someone near a tree. The person he saw didn't look anything like his brothers or sister. The man he saw was way taller than Spence or Ethen.
Cameron shrugged and continued to look for his brothers. He always looks for Carmen last because she is the best at hide n seek. Cameron saw oksana come out of a bush with her hands in a time out signal.
Oksana: time out! You guys continue. I have to use the bathroom.
Oksana went back to her house and Cameron continued looking. All of a sudden Cameron's view went black as a needle was dug into his neck. The same thing was happening to the other boys and Carmen. The siblings were dragged away and put into a black car.
Oksana ran back into the woods looking for her friends but couldn't find anyone. She ran to the Gonzalez house.
Oksana: is everyone here?
Mom: what do you mean sweetie? Everyone was outside playing were they not?
Oksana: yeah we were all playing but I had to use the restroom. When I went back to the woods everyone was gone. I looked everywhere. Even in the tree house!
mom: let's go look for them sweetie. They might be a little deeper into the woods.
Oksana and the kid's mom looked around for an hour. As time went on they both got worried. The kid's dad came home and they both called the police.
The police searched for days and found nothing. Eventually the news was released.
News reporter: a tragedy happened yesterday. Carmen, Cameron, Spence, and Ethen Gonzalez went missing. Police and many people in the community have been looking, but no evidence to where the children could be has been found.
Second reporter: please pray for the lovely Gonzalez family.
It was weeks and still no one was found. One day there was a knock on the Gonzalez mansion. They hoped their children were found but it was a police officer. The officer took his off his hat and bowed.
Officer: I'm sorry ma'am. We found a hair clip in the woods.
The officer held a clear evidence bag. There was a yellow flower clip covered in blood. The woman started sobbing with her husband behind her.
mom: that was Carmen's!
dad: Does this mean they are dead?
Officer: we're not sure. The bodies still haven't been found. On behalf of the whole station, we are sorry.
mom: no it's not your guys' fault. You officers have been doing so much for us. Thank you.
After a few more months the case was closed for good. The Gonzalez family tragedy was an unsolved mystery for years and it only escalated when Marlin and Martin Gonzalez were murdered. No one found the murderer nor any evidence. It was a complete mystery. The tragic even was on the news everywhere and in the newspapers. People were advised to watch their children because there was a possible murderer in the town.
Valeria: that sounds awful Carmen.
Carmen: oh it gets worse. Wayyy worse.
Valeria: there's actually more?
Carmen: these are just the events that lead to my childhood. The story is just about to get good.
