Two weeks passed and it's the beginning of August. Kitty was awaiting two things, information on which she would officially become a teacher of the basic school and news after we were both were served and went to court.
I laughed so hard that a worried Kitty looked at me crazily. There was no way a small old man like Earl was going to sue me for firing my license firearm on a property that doesn't belongs to him. His lawyer was nothing against mine or Kitty's as Max took her under his wing.
Kitty had called her father and he too laughed for Earl though a young little Kitty had no talk. When her family came, I was a little surprised but I was more surprised upon seeing mine. I didn't need any help but they were there to support me, and they did.
Kitty had handled the sleeping arrangements and the entire hospitality. Since it was seven rooms on the house, Kitty let her father sleep in her bedroom as she stayed with mama. Her elder brother Dexter used Sister Patsy's room and I still had my own. The remaining three upstairs were occupied by my family, Sean, Sarah and our parents.
I surely didn't miss how my family were eyeing Kitty, or us, whenever we are in the same room together.
We were all outside taking a walk, though Kitty decided to stay for Mama's sake. I brought them by the construction sight to see the improvement.
Since the last time, the entire ground floor has been completed and they started on the second floor building the blocks up on all the four housing structures. After two months, they should've been a little further with the work but I glad it was where it is now.
"So what's the plan to begin ground work?" Dad enquired.
"As soon as the apartment complex is completed, we'll begin. I want the lands cleared before the year ends. The rainy season is coming shorty and more work needs to be done before then. I expect them to reach the fourth floor roofing by month end or around the beginning of September."
"You'll need a small gas station around here." Sean grumbled and I smirked but agreed. I don't trust that old mechanic who sells gas up the road, I wouldn't want his bad gas to ruin my vehicles.
"So, Mister Kelly, what do you do?" Mom asked Kitty's father who was interested in the construction work.
"I work at water commission in Montego Bay as a marketing director." He answered and I frowned a bit, not knowing this but my family and I were impressed.
"So you have an opening? Or a part-time job perhaps?" Dad enquired further.
"At the moment, I don't. My children's mother now has our shop full-time so I'm available on most days." He explained.
"Mister Kelly, we'll be in touch during ground work. I have a lot on water resources that I'll like for us to view and to discuss." I voiced and he nods respectively.
"And you?" Mom asked Dexter who smiled.
"I work for a trucking company, I'll often drive the large trucks with marl or premix cement. Other times it's a trailer at the docks with shipping containers or I settled with a regular tractor."
"You own any trucks?" I asked and he nods. "What types?"
"I drive my own trucks; two trailers, three different tractors, a big mixer and the large fifty."
"Will you be able to work for us around early September?" I enquired and he smirked.
"Anything for my sister's boyfriend." He blurted and our family laughed.
