Chap 7 (Shadow)

We were in some kind of wrecked up building. Rouge went to the already-broken window and looked out. "What is this place?" She asked.

"Beats me." Said Crimson.

"It seems we've been teleported to another location." I said.

"Well, let's find out where we are." Rouge said. I nodded and she left ahead along with Crimson.

I looked out the window again. "Mephiles... Who is he?" I asked myself.

We're at computer room now and Rouge was hacking into it. "I'm in." She said. "I've pin pointed our location, it's... No... That's not possible. We're still in the Doctor's base. But how can that be?"

"Wait, there's no doubt now." Said Crimson.

"So it's not where we are..." I said.

"It's when." She finished.

Rouge searched through the computer more, then gasped.

"It appears we've gone through time... Doesn't it?" I said walking closer to the computer.

"Yes." Said Rouge. "Approximately 200 years. Maybe more, depending on when this database was last updated..."

There was an uncomfortable silence between us before Crimson broke it. "Well, at least, we know we've arrived in the future..." She said. "Although... It wasn't really what i expected."

"That means, this Mephiles character has the power to control time." Said Rouge.

"His power feels very similar to my own Chaos Control." I said. "But.."

Then there was a small noise and we head outside to find Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

"Oh, look who's here." Rouge said. "I didn't expect to see you guys."

"Rouge! Shadow!" Said Tails. "And um... Uh..."

"Crimson." She said. I crossed my arms.

"Hi. Long time no see." Rouge said.

We went outside and showed them the city. "This is the distant future, far removed from our own timeline." I explained.

"The future?" Asked Tails. "Then that means, Eggman's machine can control time!"

"Eggman's got some nerve dropping us here." Said Sonic.

"Now, how can we get back to our own time?" Asked Knuckles.

"You need a space time rift." I explained. "But this requires a lot of energy."

Sonic looked up. "I see. You mean using your Chaos Control will-"

"Yes. But that alone is insufficient." I said, cutting him off.

"Ok Shadow, it looks like we need to work together." He said. I nodded and we set off to find some Chaos Emeralds.
