Chapter 19 (Rouge)

We were on the Blue-Typhoon now and Shadow went off to find Cosmo. Soon enough, explosions happened all over the ship while Crimson and i stayed behind on my jet.

Crimson gave me a worried glance. "Are we absolutely sure this is the only way to dealt with the problem?"

"Pretty sure." I told her. "Although, Shadow tends to take it too far sometimes..."

"SOMEtimes?" She asked.

I groaned. "Ok. Most times."

We watched from a distance and soon, another loud crash was heard.

Crimson and i share a glance and we went to take a closer look. Soon though, we found that red echidna who had just fought Shadow a minute before we got here.

"Well?" He asked. "What are you here for?" Crimson didn't speak so i did.

"Strain your brain and guess." I told him.

"Are you working with Shadow to help him attack Cosmo?" He asked.

"Bingo." I said. "You're not as dimwitted as you look."

"Why are you doing this?"

"I'm surprised you and your space-crew room-mates haven't figure that out. That girl Cosmo is a really plant, in more ways than one."

"I'm not kidding around Rouge!" He said. "You and Shadow can communicate can't you? Call him now or i'll wipe that smirk off your face!"

Crimson rolled her eyes while I looked at him annoyed. "No need to be pushy." I used the communicator and tried to get to Shadow.

"Shadow, come in. It's Rouge. Shadow, do you read me? Come in Shadow. Is something wrong? Shadow! Why aren't you answering? Shadow? Shadow!" I looked back at the knucklehead. "It's no use. He's not responding."

Crimson growled and we started to head to wherever Shadow was. Knuckles followed us too apparently.

As we ran we felt the ship shaking. I checked the radar. "Something just blew up in the hangar!" I said.

We went to check it out, but as soon as we do, Shadow and Knuckles engaged into a fight almost immediately. Shadow won of course and he pursuit Cosmo and Tails.

Not long after, Tails called in and he told us that Shadow has been blasted into space by the Sonic Power Canon. Well at least he's not hurt... At least i hope. Then, i don't know what happened but there was a bright light and we were transported to another location. Was that Shadow?

"No it can't be." Crimson said. "I don't know what it was but, it definitely wasn't Chaos Control." I was confused for a second but i shook it off when i felt a crash.

Crimson and i head to the hangar and found Amy, who was about to take off in her space jet.

Amy and i hoped into her jet after a small argument. Crimson flew herself. I don't know how but then again, i didn't know how Shadow could fly either so whatever.

"I'll have you know that the only reason i haven't tossed you out of this plane is because i was hoping you can give me some information." Amy said to me.

"About what?" I asked.

"I want you to tell me everything you know about Cosmo." She said.

"What makes you think i know anything?" I asked. Then something hit me. "Hey, pinky. Slow this thing down, will ya?"

"No! Not until you tell me what you're up to." She said. "Why were you and Shadow after Cosmo?"

"The Materax were using your friend as a spy." I explained. "I should think you guys should be thanking us."

"But what do you and Shadow have to do with it?" She asked. "I mean, i can understand Crimson's case."

"How so?" I asked.

"She's our friend and no matter what, she's always been helping us. How else do you think we know that Eggman was setting traps for us a while ago? And besides, she's probably the only person in this war that isn't going after the Chaos Emeralds. She just wants Shadow back to normal." She said.

"That last part isn't something new." I told her. "I mean she was in Team Dark until about a year ago. I was the one who told her about the Materax battle. And shouldn't you be keeping your eyes on the sky?"

"Don't change the subject." Amy stated.

Then i saw a big tree. "Watch out!" I warned her.

She saw and turned the ship just in time. We landed in some kind of structure and i called Knuckles.

"Oh Knuckie..." I just love to tease him.

"Yeah what?" He said. Talk about attitude.

"Goodness. What a charming hello that was." I said, trying not to laugh.

"Well well. If it isn't Rouge the rat. You've got a lot of nerve. You think i'm gonna...."

I groaned. "He's going off." I gave the communicator to Amy. "Here. Talk to him."

Amy told Knuckles about where we are. Their home planet. Both Cosmo's and the Materax's.

Then a hologram appeared and it told us all about Cosmo's and the Materax's past.

When that was all done, i noticed that Crimson was no longer around and we found Cosmo about to leave in one of their planes.

Their group tried to comfort her although what gets to me the most was Knuckles. "Those Meta-dukes will be taste my knuckle-sandwich."

"Knuckle-sandwich? Gee, that was real' clever."

"Who asked you?!" He replied.

When we're dome talking some sense into Cosmo. I over-heard Shadow and Chris talking outside.

"You're all fools." Shadow said.

"You're right." Said Chris. "If being a fool means we helped our friends when they're in trouble and not turn against them, then that's what we are." Shadow started to walk away. "You don't have to go Shadow. Why don't you stick around and help us defeat them? They maybe using Cosmo but it's not her fault. And who knows? Maybe we can use they're own weapons against them. C'mon, what do you say? Will you stay?" The way that kid put it wasn't too bad.

"No matter what you say, your friend Cosmo is a Materax spy and that's all there is to it." Shadow said cruelly.

"It's not that simple." Chris started but was then cut off by a glowing light that crashed to the ground. Crimson instantly appeared next to him and we saw that annoying helper of Eggface.

"Please help Shadow." He said. "I'm begging you. THE MATERAX HAD TAKEN EGGMAN PRISONER!!!" Everyone was shocked by this.

FYI... I DO NOT SHIP KNUXOUGE!!! Sorry, just had to make things clear.
