Ch.10 Last Day

I haven't heard from her in almost a week and normally she would angrily respond. She hasn't spoken to Edith or Carolyn leaving me to wonder what's going on with her. If she's back in the hospital. If she's dating that lead singer guy, Noah.

As if on cue, my phone rings. It's a group call with Edith, Carolyn, and... AJ?

Me- Hello.

Edith- AJ what's going on?

Carolyn- We've been really worried about you.

AJ- I have some really big news and I need to see you guys to talk about it.

Me- All of us? Even me.

AJ- Yes Aiden. Even you.

Edith- What's going on?

Carolyn- Yea seriously.

AJ- Can y'all meet me?

Edith- I got a break in about 30 minutes. College Cafe?

Carolyn- I'm leaving the house now.

Me- I'm on my way too.

AJ- Love you guys.

She ends the call before any of us could say it back. Something is telling me she's saying goodbye and I'm not fucking ready for it.

I'm nervous to see them right now. Noah and I have agreed that because of him being famous and the fact that no one seemed to post about him asking me to be his girlfriend, that we 1. Weren't going to tell anyone that we are together until he and I are both comfortable with it being out in the world and 2. I'm not going to tell our friends including Aiden that Noah and I are officially together. But I do need to tell them that I have decided to go on tour with Bad Omens.

Right now, I'm waiting with Taylor in the Cafe, while Jolly and Noah help packs up our dorm room with Nicholas and Nick. My knee is anxiously bouncing up and down, not really sure how our friends are fixing to take this news.

I then see Edith, Carolyn, and Aiden's gorgeous face, come through the gate. Taylor and I stand up and hug them as they arrive over to us. Carolyn and Taylor hug a little longer than the rest of us then I come face to face with Aiden. I welcome him with open arms considering I'm about to be gone till next July while on tour with the guys.

We all pull away and sit down.

"Okay so we have some good news and bad news" Taylor says.

Carolyn and Edith look at each other. They all already know that she's dating Jolly, and Carolyn is actually not too happy about it.

"What's the good news?" Edith asks.

Taylor and I look at each other then I swallow hard. I take a deep breath.

"We have been given the opportunity to tour with Bad Omens. And they want me to join the band as lead/co vocals" I say.

Edith and Carolyn get excited while Aiden sits there in shock.

"That is amazing news AJ. Oh my god this is huge for you. You finally get the exposure you've been wanting since going here" Carolyn says.

I look over at Aiden.

"Aiden?" I ask.

"I'm so proud of you" he says.

I smile at that response.

"And the bad news?" Edith asks.

"We will be doing school online and we will be gone until about July of next year. Pretty much until the tour finishes out" Taylor says.

Aiden looked like someone shot him at what Taylor just said and I had no idea what to feel.

"So, you're telling me that you're going to be gone until July of next year?" Aiden says.

I look down and I nod. I hear the chair move then look up to see him walking away. Edith gets up and goes after him after yelling she'll be right back to me and the girls.

Aiden was furious. He knew he was never going to get the chance to get her back with her going on tour with someone he's fighting with to get her attention and to win her back.

He storms out to his car unaware that Edith had followed him out. Carolyn decided to stay back to make sure that AJ didn't end up having an episode. Taylor even explained to Carolyn what the plans were while they were on the road.

"Aiden wait" Edith says, running after him.

"Go away E. She obviously doesn't care about how any of us feel since she already made this decision without speaking to us first" Aiden snaps.

Edith scoffs as they finally stop at his car.

"Do you not realize that this is the opportunity of a lifetime for her. For her to finally discover who she is. Who she wants to be. Her dream was always to perform, and you knew that more than anyone" Edith explains to him.

He scoffs and smirks.

"And what if she chooses him. I wouldn't be able to live without myself knowing that I lost to a fucking singer" Aiden says.

Edith had finally had enough. She grabs him by the collar, pulling him down to her small level and smacks him hard across the face.

"Now listen here brother of mine, put your fucking ego aside for one fucking second and realize that you are in this situation because of what you fucking did to yourself. She did nothing but love and cherish you like you were the only fucking person who fucking mattered to her. You fucking left her. You cheated on her. You made her feel worthless and like she fucking meant nothing to you. Do not play the fucking pity game when this is in all actuality, all your fucking fault. She's happy for fucking once and about to live out her dream so either go back over there and be happy for her and wish her a beautiful farewell or get your ass in this car and go the fuck home. She doesn't need this negativity right now and frankly, I'm fucking sick and tired of it from you. So, pull your head out of your ass for once and realize that this is her choice, not yours. What's your fucking choice?" Edith goes on to rant.

Aiden knew his sister was right, he was just afraid to admit that he's wrong for once.
