Parading is not what you expected; it is much less humiliating than you had in mind.
There were no chains, all that happened was that you were dressed in Roman clothing, and Octavian declared you a roman citizen.
Before stripping you and your siblings from the royal titles.
And announcing that you are to live under his guardianship while your siblings will be in the care of his sister, Octavia.
As much as it might seem better than getting killed, Octavian knows precisely what he is doing.
He is deleting your identity.
And if you depend on Caeserion to save you and your siblings, you are writing a death sentence.
No hate intended for Caeserion, but you know that he is unfit to rule because he is irresponsible.
But, still, you would support his rule no matter what.
You just pray that he doesn't fall into Octavius' trap.
Because you know very well that the Roman emperor will have him killed once he reveals his hiding place.
If only you can send a message to warn him, yet you don't even know your brother's location.
But, on the bright side, you were able to send a letter to your father and he sent you a letter...
...an angry one.
My dear daughter (Y/n),
Why did you insult Caeser? Do you realize that you have wasted your chance to be reunited with me?
Damn your mother and Mark Antony, if it was not for them, Egypt would have still been standing.
Right now, I want you to not cause any more chaos, and I will try to negotiate with Caeser again in hopes of setting you free.
As for your half-siblings, I don't care for them, I only care for you, my daughter from my flesh and blood.
From your father,
(F/N)"What does the letter say, your highness?" Hager asks when she notices the displeased look on your face.
"Father will not negotiate for Selene, Alexander, and Ptolemy, he will only negotiate on my return"
Your handmaiden tears the letter into pieces, before sitting beside you and placing a comforting arm around your shoulders.
"Maybe it is better to leave the young princes and princess here, after all, they are part Roman"
Your eyes widen in shock, before shaking your head in disapproval.
"No! I can't leave them here, they are my siblings, it is my duty to take care of them!" you exclaim, standing up.
"I will find a way to escape, Octavian doesn't scare me," you say, placing your hands on your waist.
"And how would you be able to do that, my princess? " you smirk.
"With good planning"
Hager looks behind you in fear upon realizing who is standing at the door.
"My princess..."
"Octavian has a spiteful heart-"
"I did not know that this is how you think about me" you immediately freeze.
You turn around to see the Roman emperor standing there, standing beside him is a little girl who looks to be about nine years old, she looks exactly like Octavian.
"I should have your head for such a treacherous sentence" you gulp.
"Who is the adorable little girl?" you ask, changing the subject quickly.
"I'm Julia" the girl exclaims with a bright smile.
"Julia is my daughter, I will appoint you as her companion" you raise an eyebrow.
"Her companion?"
"Yes, I heard you excel in many fields including philosophy, medication, and literature, I wish for you to tutor Julia" Octavian explains.
"If may I ask why me?"
You are confused, there are many tutors out there, yet Octavian choose you.
The Roman man smirks, his eyes gazing at you coldly.
"I'm trying to make good use of you, after all, you can't always stay useless"
