"It wasn't that bad," nia walked behind her brothers and smiled seeing aito was back as well.
"Yea well mom and dad could never be upset with their little baby girl," kaio picked on the seven year old and she pushed him.
"Cause I'm not stupid," she grunted.
"Are you grounded from missions?" Kaio looked over at aito.
"No I'm still good," the water bender smiled as he picked up nia and put her on his shoulders.
"Did you hear aangs coming back today?" Ren put his hands behind his head.
"That means ty Lee is coming back too!" Nia gasped excited.
They walked to the group of other warriors from the water tribe, and soldiers from the rebellion. Over the years the fire nation started to join the rebellion when they heard the lost prince was joining the war again, there was families looking to find safety and others who wanted to help.
"Look who's still standing, it the fire nation didn't kill you i was sure your parents were going too," a group of other teens laughed at the group of siblings. Mixed of fire nation, earth kingdom and water tribe teenagers, all getting along.
Ever since Azula was moved to the South Pole for her prison, the tribe members either moved to the northern tribe or joined the chief outside in the world, young men and now women traveling to help in the war.
"Mission was successful, no harm no foul," Ren grinned wrapping an arm around kaio. "Someone just likes to disobey orders,"
"Reeeeeen," kaio whined embarrassed trying to escape his older brothers grip.
"Everyone made it out okay?" A earth kingdom girl smiled kindly over at them, as well as a water tribe boy and another earth kingdom girl.
"Yea we're all okay Rumi," aito blush awkwardly as she walked over, she had hazel green eyes and short brown hair that hung past her ears.
"I'm glad, your lucky to get to go on the sea missions, seems more exciting," she put her hands on her hips. "At least more for a water bender for sure,"
"You two should go on a mission some time!" Ren called and kaio cackled hiding behind his brother as aitos face got more red under his freckles.
"Shut up Ren!" Aito huffed as rumi laughed a little covering her mouth.
"Yea give the poor guy a break Ren," the water tribe boy grinned at the twin with his hands on his hips.
"Thank you Isamu, someone's on my side," aito nodded and Ren now blushed instead at the backfire.
"You really let the thirteen year old come with?" Isamu smirked at Ren. The fire bender pursed his lips trying to keep his cool, but he could feel his ears burn.
"I'm just trying to be a good brother," Ren smiled back a little.
"Start with not taking him on fire nation ships," Isamu looked over at kaio grinning and shook his head. Ren opened his mouth to speak but nothing could come out.
"I'll see you guys around, chief Sokka has been on my tail bout wondering off," Isamu stuck out his tongue and walked back to the tribes.
"H-have fun!" Ren waved back blushing. Isamu smiled and gave a small wave.
"Ouch, that was tough to watch," nia giggled leaning forward on aitos shoulders.
"It was torture," kaio agreed.
"Oh my god I'm going to kill myself!" Ren cried out covering his face walking to his home tent.
—
"You can't ground them for that," Toph laughed loudly as the group of five waited in the main tent for the avatar to join.
"It was irresponsible," Zuko took a swing from a flask and handed it to his wife.
"Yea and what we're you doing at thirteen? Or sixteen?" Sokka smiled at him.
"... banished and disowned..."
"Fighting a war, Aang and Toph have been since they were twelve," Katara corrected and passed the flask around the circle.
"I didn't want them to fight at all," Zuko smiled instead at how hypocritical he probably sounded.
"Look at the twins parents first of all much less their bloodline, they were born to be warriors, kaio is smart and strong, nia is going to scare us the most," Suki motioned to the parents of the four children.
"Your kids are strong and so so smart, there is a thing they can't do," she smiled gently.
"Mama, papa, Rens having a break down again," nia walked in with an apple.
"Private family business?" Katara asked.
"Troubles in paradise," she nodded.
"I got it, When Aang comes send nia to get me," Zuko waved his hand up as he exited the tent, nia spun around to face the adults with a smile and her hands behind her back.
"So can I help with war plans yet?" She asked hopeful.
"Not yet sweetie but soon," Katara humored as she pulled her daughter to a hug on her lap.
"I'll teach her early," Sokka poked making her giggle.
"Yay uncle Sokka!" Nia punched the air.
"Not until your at least fifteen," Katara covered her eyes as the adults chuckled.
