Hale Manor, Beacon Heights, California

Last week, the Alphas of the McCall-Hale Pack decided it would be a good idea to separate some Pack Nights. Some thought it was a bit 'Middle School' to separate the children, but what was happening was that the betas who were dating just made out and stuck to themselves. They needed to all bond, but this would start by separating guys and girls, and then they would talk about other groups if this one was more successful.

Derek wanted the Alphas to split into both groups, so he was supposed to hang out with the girls tonight. Luckily, Lydia texted him they would have a sleepover and watch movies at her house, so he didn't have to come. Unfortunately, this meant he would still have to participate with the guys.

It had been just a few days since everything in the Hale Manor had been rebuilt. He wanted to lounge in the bedroom, a replica of his old teenage bedroom.

He managed to talk the true Alpha into splitting the guys up and painting the new drywall of the Manor. Scott thought this would be a good bonding exercise, so he paired up those with the least in common or who hated each other. Derek paired himself up with Isaac because the boy knew how not to get on his nerves.

It was nearing midnight, and that was as long as Derek could get Scott to agree to get free work out of bonding night.

"Alright, guys, let's take a midnight run," Scott called out.

"He is telling us to finish up and go out for a run," Jackson told Stiles since he couldn't hear Scott with his human hearing. Stiles nodded and kneeled to close the can of paint. Derek and Isaac peeked into the room while leaving the master bedroom.

"Stiles, you won't be able to keep up with us. Just stick around the yard and gather some wood to help start the bonfire," Derek said. This was to keep him busy, as he already had plenty of firewood chopped up.

"Yeah, fine..." Stiles muttered, putting the lid over the roller tray and storming out. Derek noticed the coldness, and he raised an eyebrow at Jackson.

"What did you say?" Derek asked.

"I just asked him if he were to take the bite if he would be a jackass or bitchy chihuahua..." Jackson said, and Derek laughed.
