 "Karlie, aren't you tired?" I ask, sitting down on my bed

"Karlie, aren't you tired?" I ask, sitting down on my bed. It's been so long since I've slept on the mattress I bought for myself.

"Jaxon, I rarely have a day off, leave me alone. Plus, it's only 6 in the afternoon." She whines, flinging her body onto the bed beside me.

"You don't get enough sleep. You should be catching up." I say, sternly.

"Come on, baby. Care for me." She says, lowering her voice as her hands reach out for me.

I shake my head before placing my body in between her leg and tucking my head into her neck as my hand holds her thigh high on my hip.

"What do you want to do?" I mumble against her skin before kissing it.

She hums, shrugging.

I take a moment to rub her body. Her muscles are stiff and knotted, her body is stiff, probably because of the poses she does for photo shoots.

"Take off your shirt." It was meant to be a question.

"Take it off for me." She mumbles, looking at me through her hooded eyes.

I take a deep breath as I stand to my feet. I grab the bottom of her shirt before pausing and looking at Karlie for her confirmation. She nods before I pull the shirt over her head and laying her down so I can take off her leggings.

She wears only a bra and underwear as I flip her onto her stomach with a squeak coming from her mouth than a laugh that makes me chuckle.

"Where are you going?" She asks when I round the bed to go the bathroom. I stay silent as I grab the lotion, waving it when I return.

She smiles before hiding it with her arm.

I lather my hands with lotion before rubbing her back. Loving the way I can feel her muscles slowly relax.

"Jaxon?" Karlie mumbles softly.

"What is it, my love?" I ask, kissing her shoulder.

I've chosen to not hideaway the feelings I bear for her. She deserves be shown the love that I will show her. No one will be able to love her the way I will.

"I think-" She pauses, taking a deep breath. "I think that I am safe and you have a job to do here. You don't need to be with me anymore." She says, quietly and hesitantly.

I pause, my hands stop rubbing her back for second before they continue.

"Is that what you want?" I ask, careful as to not harden my voice.

She sits up quickly, sitting on her knees as she faces me, grabbing my hands eagerly.

"No but you have to think logically, I haven't seen you work at all and you've spent 4 weeks with me, Jaxon." She says, softly but sternly.

I stay silent. I'm getting majority of my stuff done. I will admit, it's hard to do things when we are constantly on the move but I'm finding the time to do it.

"I don't want anything to happen to you." She says, softly while staring at our hands.

"If that's what you want." I mumble before kissing her forehead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Karlie has left already.
She was true to her word. She didn't wake me or leave anything, she just left. I do understand where she's coming from but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
It all became the new normal for me in such a short amount of time. Being able to see Karlie every morning until she went to bed has been what I've been living. I get into routines easily.
"Kane, tell me what's been happening." I order, taking a seat in my office chair.
"Surprisingly enough, everyone has been quiet but you know, that can change at any second." He reasons, rolling his eyes.
I nod.
"Shipments have been going well. We've been enforcing the new rule about people paying firsthand. The only thing that is holding you up is your architecture firm." He summarizes.
The only reason I started my architecture firm is to keep people off my back about the whole mafia thing.
I nod, dismissing him.
It feels weird to just be sitting here. Normally, Karlie would be messing with me or I would be staring at Karlie but she isn't here.
I don't know what this is called but I don't like it.
