Akira POV

If this life were a dream, I'd like it to be over soon. My life isn't the best. But it could be worse than it is now. Sure, I'm bullied a lot but eh. At least I have Em. She comes into the monastery a lot, and always in her angel form which makes no sense to me.

I walked up the stairs leading to a tall, white and beige church. Home sweet home, ironically. I stopped in front of a white door with a crystal door knob. I put my hand on it and turned it, pushing it lightly and walking inside. My eyes slowly darted around the entrance of the church as I closed the door. The room had many white chairs on a dark wood floor. I could see that there was a sermon a few minutes before I had arrived as my father, the pastor was looking over notes. I put my hand on my bandage riddled face before pushing my hair back and walking up to him. He scoffed slightly, looking at me with his piercing green eyes, and tanned skin. He had light brown hair and her wore black robes that trailed behind him.

"Akane, make sure you remember to change before the guardians arrive. We wouldn't want them knowing a demon like you is socializing with humans." He spoke with a disgust in his voice. I sighed and nodded, turning to look at another white door that had been far from him. My father had always been cold to me, especially after my mother died. According to him, I was the one who killed her, with my demon like tendencies. Really, for the past few years, I've been transitioning. He gave me my mothers name at birth, Akane, but... I changed it to Akira to say the least.

I walked to the door and pulled it open, revealing a small living room, where a girl sat. She had long white hair with a dark brown streak in her hair. Her skin was rosy, and her eyes were the Colours of emeralds and lapis. This was my older sister, Aira. Even at my age of 16, she was just as lively as me, even though she was ten years older than I. She was really the only person who supported my transition. I walked in and walked over to her, seeing that she had already spotted me.

"Hey Akira~! What's yup little bro?" She asked me with a wide smile, standing up and getting off the couch. I turned to an open closet and grabbed a full white outfit before turning back to her. The outfit consisted of a pair of white dress pants and a white dress shirt. I hated this outfit with every fiver of my being. "I have a monastery shift.. go me." I spoke sarcastically. She chuckled slightly before placing a hand on my hand. She was only slightly taller than me, but oh well. She ruffled my hair, revealing the bandage over my eyes that I so desperately wanted hidden. Her once sweet smile had turned into a sour frown as she got closer, and took the blue hair pin in that kept her bangs out of her face. Just they did mine, her bangs favoured the left side of her face. She pinned back the left side of my face so she could get a better look.

"Did your scar reopen again?" She asked in a soft but anger filled tone. I knew she wasn't angry at me but it felt like she was. I nodded compliantly, before backing off and taking the hair pin out of my hair and handing it to her. "I'll be fine, don't worry about it, Aira." I smiled brightly, trying to make her feel better. I knew she didn't believe me but she sighed and nodded before a slight smile appeared on her face.

"Just... be safe." Aira spoke, her voice going soft. I smiled at that before going to my room and changing.

2 hours later.

I stretched slightly, waiting patiently for someone to walk into the office of supernatural advice; my department. I didn't like it, but if it got my dad off my back, I'll be fine. I sighed, fidgeting with a metal crochet hook that my mother had used, and I had learned to use before she died. I sighed, almost as if I had yelled a queue to have someone enter, a girl. I immediately shot out of my seat when I saw her. It was a short girl in an Angel like outfit, a pink one. This was THE princess. I bowed to her as she closed the door behind her, her blonde hair swaying as she turned to look at me. "Mister, please don't bow to me. I came her for you, so.." she smiled. I looked back up at her, seeing her deep brown eyes. They looked familiar.

"Sit down your majesty." I asked, sitting down on my side of the desk. She sat down in the chair in-front of me. She smiled purely before realizing something. She kept quiet though. "So, how can I assist you?" I asked, smiling nervously. Her once beautiful smile had turned into a frown. "I can't use my powers on one single person." She explained. I raised and eyebrow at that.

"Well, what's your power? It depends on that." I asked, looking through files on my desk, searching for one that looked like it fit. "It's called daydream." She explained. I found a file with that name and pulled it out of the desk. "I can go into the minds of others and make them think something or daydream, basically." She continued.

I opened the file. "So.. you can't get into the mind of this person or you can, but you can't make them do anything?" I asked, tilting my head slightly and looking down. She was nervous. Her leg was bouncing ever so slightly and her hands picked at the skin of her arms.

"I can't access their mind."

I looked and found something in the file but it had no relevance. I closed the file, already determining the cause. "So, there's three options. The most likely thing to have caused that is Possession. Their mind could also be Shadow locked, or they could be a halfbreed. Them being a halfbreed is very rare and unlikely though." I explained, interlocking my hands as I did so.

"I don't think they are possessed... what's Shadow locking?" She asked me, starting to play with her hair. I sighed before standing up and looking out the window. "It's when a demon of great power casts a ritual. It takes a lot of time." I explained, turning back to face her.

She nodded slightly, getting up and walking out of the room. I was confused at that. But for some reason I was also nervous. When she had left, I turned to the desk and picked up an emerald amulet. I put it on and sighed.

So the fight begins.

Mai Pov:

I needed to get out of there before Akira noticed that it was me. The information he gave me was useless if I couldn't figure out what was going on with this supernatural demon guy.

I stopped when my phone rang. I waited until I got outside of the church to answer it. I looked at the caller ID. Emira. I answered happily, putting it to my ear. "Hey lovely~!" I greeted her, going into my regular form and walking onto the street. "So I invited Akira to come with me, you, and Hiro tomorrow. Is that okay?" She asked me. I smiled softly. Hiro, was a childhood best friend of both me and Emira. He was a good person overall, even for a half angel.

"Yeah I don't mind. It'd be nice for the two to meet."
