Akira POV.

I walked away slowly from the group, watching as the crowd engulfed them. I stopped when I made it to the Faris wheel's line. I wanted to hang out with them but not with Darwin around. I despised him for what he had done to me. I took a few deep breaths before feeling someone's hand on my shoulder. "Are you okay?" I heard as I looked over to see Hiro, with a confused look on his face. He was taller than me, but yet again, he always had been. His eyes were hypnotizing... it made me think I might still love him. He looked like he realized something for a moment.

"Why would I be okay when he came and tried to apologize with that shitty fucking apology? Maybe if he hadn't written it on his hand, it would've felt more genuine." I scoffed out slightly. He looked slightly surprised at my reply, as if he expected me to lie or something. He stayed quiet for the rest of the line, which was strange... he always was talking. In fact, when we got to the ride operator, he paid for both of our tickets. When the operator fastened us into the booth, that had been stained white, he closed the door and started the ride.

"You didn't have to pay for that you know." I sighed out, leaning back and looking at the view of the place. I could see Mai and Emira waiting in line for the biggest ride there. I could even see Darwin waiting to play a toss the ball game. They were rigged anyway, so I never bothered with them. "Yeah, well I wanted to talk to you alone." he spoke coldly.

This was a surprise to me as he was usually always teasing or smiley. Did he know my secret? I never told him. He shouldn't know. "So, what's a Halfbreed demon like you, doing working at an altar of heaven?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow. I looked at him with my eyes wide. He fucking knew. I looked at him straight in the eyes: My blue streak of hair had come undone from the hair clips I had borrowed from my sister.

"What do you mean, Hiro?" I asked, pretending as if I didn't know what was going on. He scoffed and furrowed his eyebrows. His expressions were almost irritated. "I know we've known each other for a while, but you need to stay away from Emira and Mai. They are going to find you and hurt you." he warned. Was he worrying about me? I looked at him with a confused look.

"I don't know what you are talking about. You're scaring me." I shied away as he got closer to me. It almost made me blush; he was so close. "Akira, I can't see you get hurt again. You need to go before they find you and hurt you and Aira." Hiro spoke, almost afraid of what was going to happen.

I feared this. "I know about you trying to fight back against the princess... and Em. And if they find out your identity, they could hurt you all." He continued. I looked at him as if he was crazy. I don't remember anything about fighting people... was I hurting people?

"I don't know what you're talking about... Demons? Princesses? Are you okay Hiro? Do you need a doctor?" I asked as the ride stopped. We were midway through the ride, and he looked Irate. I knew I was a demon but that's why I wore the necklace. So I didn't hurt anyone. Maybe if I ignored it will go away.

"You aren't understanding... you need to go." He looked at me with pleading eyes. I took a moment to look at them. He had a small halo appear above his head. I could barely feel my face. He was also a Halfbreed? An angel at that. "You... You have a halo...?" I pointed out, trying not to be scared or sound intimidated. That's when the ride stopped. We had made it back to the start and it was time for us to get off.

I took a few slow breaths and walked off calmly before looking at my phone. 5 missed calls from Aira... I took a moment and walked outside of the park, calling her back. Come to think of it, she was acting stranger than normal this morning. She answered.

"Aira? What's going on? Is everything okay?" I asked

"We need to talk... about dad."

"Okay? What's up?"

"Mom cheated on him with a demon unknowingly... you were born, and my father despised you..."

"Aira, are you kidding me?"

"She died because of you being halfblooded... you got your powers, and she was the consequence of it... its why you have the necklace... can you please come home...? We need to talk about this."

I almost couldn't breathe. My eyes started to sting slightly. Why in hell was she only telling me now. I lived my whole life thinking my mother died of cancer when really it was me... Tears ran down my face as I heard Aira's pleads for me to answer her.

"Why now. Why tell me now!? I lived my whole life thinking it wasn't my fault!" I yelled into the speaker, tears pouring out of my eyes.

"Because for Halfbreeds you can only control their demons for a certain amount of time before they can take control... yours is about to run out. You have... less than two minutes..."

I just stood and stared into space, trying to process what was going on but I failed miserably. I could barely remember why I was there, let alone know why I became this monstrous. All I knew is that I craved cotton candy...

"Akira you need to come home...! Now!" She spoke timidly.

I started giggling slightly... I don't know why.

"I think... I'm going to stay for the cotton candy and sugar trees."

Hiro POV

-flashback-

"You know, Akane... Have you ever looked at yourself and thought, that's what I want to never happen to anyone else?" I asked my friend who was sitting beside me. He looked at me and nodded, raising an eyebrow as if to make sure he knew what I was talking about.

"Yeah, I do... I mean, when my mom died, I never really longed for friendship until I met you. And you helped me convince my dad to allow me to cut my hair. I owe you dude." He smiled softly at that, staring into the sunset. I couldn't help but stare.

I sighed slightly, looking away and looking at the grass on the edge of the cliff we sat on. "Akane... I think I'm gay." I managed to force out. He didn't even look at me before smiling and punching my arm.

"I'm happy you told me, weirdo. Now. Are we going to find Darwin and tell him or what?" He asked with a bright smile on his face. I couldn't help but feel my cheeks turn rosy as I nodded.

-present-

I sighed, waiting at a food cart in line, overthinking my choices. I wasn't wrong in telling Akira, but... I was harsh. I scared him. I just wanted us all to be friends again... but he was in danger. I needed to let him know that. I sighed when I heard Mai run up to me. "Hiro! Have you seen Akira!?" They yelled. I looked at them in a panic as chaos started pouring into the seams of a normal place. Everyone was running around. That's when I noticed...

The shadows. They started consuming everything except four of us. Emira, Mai, Darwin, and me.

"Hello angels~!" I heard a corrupted voice appear out of nowhere. A demon was hiding in the dark. A smart and strong one at that.

"Who are you!?" Mai yelled out into the void.

"Hmm... should I let them know, Hiro~? Maybe I'll tell the princess but hm... that would hurt me wouldn't it?" The voice replied.

"What are you doing!? What is going on!?" Darwin yelled.

"The fights just about to begin~!"
