Nick finds a diary that Charlie was keeping before his admission and over the summer / a loose account of Nicks perspective of Charlie's hospital admission and things that may have happened

A/N: I have no idea what your allowed on psychiatric wards and I didn't feel very comfortable looking it up many apologies if any of this information is incorrect also dates written for Charlie's diary are of course fake the info I found said that in solitaire Charlie was admitted between Sept/Oct to December with no exact dates any events mentioned aren't based on the books or show timeline I am aware Nick helping Charlie get help through his parents was also different - please be kind

sorry its been a while hope you enjoy this update, Happy new year everyone I hope you all had a wonderful festive period if you celebrate x

Nick

I pick up the phone sighing dialling in the Springs's landline taking a deep breath before pushing "ring" after a few beeps the line crackles into life and Jane answers "Hello Nick is that you?" she asks warmly "um hi Jane yeah its me listen I was just phoning to ask if I could come by and grab a few things from Charlie's room Tori and I are going to visit him at the hospital this weekend and he's given me a list as long as his arm of things he wants me to bring!" I chuckle warmly and Jane matches my  laughter tutting "Why doesn't that shock me he sent me the same list when I went to visit recently, ok no problem I'll see you in about fifteen minutes or so?" Jane offers and I very quickly agree Jane being responsive when it came to anything to do with me and Charlie in the past had been a rarity especially recently with Charlies diagnosis and hospital admission which I understood but it didn't make things any easier not wanting to miss my opportunity I quickly make my way over to Charlie's it was a fifteen minute walk so I got there at exactly quarter past one and I didn't even have the opportunity to knock on the door as Jane opens it smiling

Jane smiles "I'm assuming you know where your going?" She asks I smile nodding I knew the layout of Charlie's house by now like it was my own Jane didn't even need to direct me, up the stairs past the bathroom second door on the right I hesitate my hand hovering over Charlie's door handle tears threatening to spill " its just Charlie's room pull yourself together!" I mumble to myself suddenly my hand grasps the handle and I open the door the tears subside and a strange wave of emotion comes over me of content happiness my mind suddenly tricks me thinking Charlie would be there waiting for me

My heart twinges as Charlie's room is almost exactly how he'd left it a few weeks ago when he was admitted into the psychiatric ward for help and support, his bed still has his yellow and white stripe bedding on his MUSIC sign is still above his bed but it looks like it's been turned on in a while I sit down on the bed and instinctively turn it on it fizzes into life the silence is soon deafening again.

Pushing back tears I decide to busy myself with the list Charlie had sent me unfolding the scrap paper and smiling at his scribbled handwriting it looked like he had been writing it between sessions due to how crumpled the piece of paper was by the time Tori gave it to me before school one day she had been under strict instructions to "only give this to Nick and no one else"  (see picture of what I think the list would've looked like) "Love Char" was scrawled at the bottom of the list like a signature and looked rushed as though he was handing it back to his mum or Tori in a hurry as they left from a visit
