The next day, Brent walked inside the staff room to retrieve his things from the locker. As he was changing his sneakers, the principal of the school stuck her head inside briefly.

"Mr.Faiyaz, they're is someone in the main office waiting for you" She told him as she proceeded to walk away from the door. He finished up what he was doing and stood to his feet. He walked out the staff room and walked down the hallway to the main office. He was pretty confused because he wasn't expecting anyone, let alone meeting him at his job. I got to the office and seen a face he hasn't seen in a very long time. They looked at each other for a few minutes without saying anything to each other.

"Well how the hell are you, son? Don't just stand there" Keon, Brent's father said.

"How did you know where I worked at? I didn't even know you were back in Maryland" He said to his father. The last time they seen each other was when he told his son that he wants nothing to do with him and his mother.

"I was here visiting for a few days and decided to go and try to see your mother, to tell her some good news that I have" He told his son. He didn't want people in their business, they stood to their feet and walked out the office and then out the building together.

"Okay.. what's the news? How'd you find my job though?" I asked with a little chuckle because I don't know why he's dancing around the fact of how the hell he knew out of all schools in this district, he decides to come to the correct one on the first try? Something ain't right.

"Well I wanted to wait until I got y'all both together but you're persistent on this, just like your old man. I'm inviting you guys to my house for the weekend, you have a new baby sister on the way" He told his eldest son. His face read nonchalant but inside he was having a wave of emotions going through him. The last time they spoke to each other, he left Brent and his mother high and dry for what would've been 8 years ago if he never made a return today.

"Oh wow.. congratulations, and you haven't told mom anything yet? This is some pretty important information" I told him, seeing my phone screen light up with two new messages. One was from Talia and the other was from my co worker here at the school.

"Yes I know, I've been trying all morning since my flight landed. Can you call her and tell her? We can meet somewhere, I know she wouldn't feel comfortable with me being in her place of residence" He said with sincerity in his voice. I went to my call log and called my mother. It rung about 4 times before she picked up.

"Are you with your father?" She asked when the call connected.

"Yeah, he asked me to call you. He wanted to tell you something" I said as I handed him my phone. He looked nervous and hesitant at first but eventually took it from me.

"I don't see what's the problem Ki. You know damn well I'm not letting anything happen to you or let anyone try to play themselves" My ex boyfriend, Jonah said. He's been trying to convince me for the past twenty minutes to work as a bottle girl at his new club that he opened a month ago. We're the cool kind of ex's, we didn't leave on a sour note or hating each other afterwards because it wasn't necessary to do so.

"I just don't know.. you know how I am with showing my body and stuff. Can't I just hold up the birthday signs when you guys have an event?" I asked him in return of his question.

"I mean you can but you're not going to make that much versus you being a bottle for like 3 times out the week. How about this, I'll let you wear leggings. You don't have to dress sexy or anything" He explained to me. I gave it a second thought after he said that. He's right, plus he gets a lot of business already so the pay will probably be way better where  I'm at now.
