Two weeks later

I was on my last delivery of the day and my body is on fire. I haven't done heavy lifting work in a minute and I smoke now so I be having to make sure I take my breaks in between. I was delivering ceiling lights,stripper poles and other boxes to a club across town. After today, I'm going to visit my mother and chill with her for a little to catch her up to speed on things. I was currently at the store to load up the items into the truck. I called Kiandra because she told me to call her when I'm not busy. It rung twice and she answered.

"Hey, what you doing? Because I know you're still busy" She said and I laughed a little because how she know that?

"Not really, just loading some boxes to the truck. You in the bathroom or some shit? I hear an echo" I asked as I got into the passenger side and closed the door.

"Nah, I'm in like the smoking part of the place. It's early so it's pretty dead right now so I'm just smoking my blunt" She said.

"Shit, I wish I was kickin it with you. You done disappeared on a nigga, I miss you" I told her truthfully.

"Aww I miss you too Brent, everything just been hectic with this new job I got and now you're working all the time again. We gotta do something" She said as the background regained its nosiness.

"Facts we definitely do. I'm off tomorrow if you have anything in mind, I'm not good at planning shit for girls" I said.

"Me either, I'm like the most boring person ever when it comes to going out or doing shit. By the end of the day I'll figure out what we could do" She said. I don't like to beat around the bush and be quiet about what I want to do and I'm not about to start now.

"We could cyph and after that I take you out to dinner? How does that sound?" I asked her. I feel like she been ducking me every time I ask to link her, the question is why? I know we cool and shit but maybe I don't try hard enough? I haven't had an actual female friend in a long ass time, so this is new to me.

"That sounds... really nice. You wanna take me out to dinner? Lil ole me?" She asked as I sucked my teeth.

"Hell yeah, I been wanted to ask you but I didn't wanna get rejected. My pride would be so crushed, not even gonna lie to you" I told her.

"Aww you making me blush. I'd like that. I'm almost done here so I'll call you when i get home" She told me.

"Ight" I said before hanging up.

"Man I know we only knew each other for two weeks but that's the happiest I ever seen you get while on the phone, I'm just saying" My co worker said as we pulled up at the location.

"Man she's like the best friend I always wanted, it's hard to explain" I told him as we both hopped out the truck.

I was finishing up the last few customers that were in my section before heading to the locker room. Before I could walk to the back, I seen a brown skin girl with nice long dreads waving to me.

"Hey girl. I'm sorry to flag you down like that but are you guys hiring? I have a exotic dancing only resume on me" She spoke with a smile.

"Yeah I think we are, let me show you to the manager" I told her as I started walking to the last office on the first floor. The door was closed but I heard his voice through it. I knocked on it twice, he answered it super fast and he had paper work on the desk as he put the office phone on hold.

"Hey, what's going on?" He asked as he looked straight at me.

"We have a nice young lady here with some exotic dancing in her vocabulary. I thought I'd bring her to you" I told him as he nodded his head and directed his attention to her.
