In the early stages of writing, I wanted to make a romance arc with these two a bit after Jack got the job as a police officer.
John was recently divorced, but Jack had feelings for him, but didn't want to put pressure on John.
It wouldn't be until after Kevin and Streber got married where the two confessed their feelings for one another.
It was ultimately scrapped because it would have changed the main focus of the story.
