Chapter Two
Hiding in the Corridor

Returning to the Great Hall always brought a stunned look to people's faces, even the new students had an amazed expression resting on their youthful faces.

Even after attending Hogwarts for years, the sight would always be magical to me. The starry night illusion at the top of the room was my favorite part, it reminded me of sleeping under the stars.

"What took you so long to get here?" Estella came up to me with worry and concern on her face as she breathed breathfully.

"There was a situation with Draco. So we had to wait for the very last carriage to approach us." I answered her, turning slightly to see Harry, Ron and Hermione as they were in the process of catching up with me, it appears that Luna had disappeared in the process.

"It's always Malfoy! He just can't leave anything be, can he?" She replied clearly annoyed and defeated from the adventures of today.

"It appears that way." I responded looking over my shoulder for a brief moment seeing if I could spot the platinum blonde with silver pools for eyes, but to my avail, he wasn't at his table.

"Aurora, we are going to sit down." I heard Hermione say softly, almost at a whisper in an attempt to not disrupt our conversation. I simply nodded in response, still facing Estella.

"It was good to see you Estella." I heard Harry say as he glanced our direction just slightly as the Golden Trio began to walk to the Gryffindor table.

I imagine the three wanted to check up on her just as badly as the next, but truthfully, I think she can only handle a few people asked "Are you ok?" at once. I can't imagine how many people have already asked, but knowing her she is most likely putting up a front to appear stronger. I can't say I blame her though.

Shortly after the trio left, Estella and I parted ways seeing that the Sorting Hat Ceremony was beginning for the new arrivals. As student after student got sorted into their houses, I couldn't help but cheer for the new arrivals to join my house.

This was also one of my favorite events back at Hogwarts, seeing all the students get accepted to the house they were anticipating makes their young faces light up with pure joy as they get cheered on as they walk to where they belong.

As soon as the ceremony finished, it was becoming increasingly obvious that everyone around the Great Hall was starving and dying for a warm plate of fresh food.

"Good evening, children," Professor Dumbledore amplified his voice causing all those to turn their heads towards the headmaster, "Now, we have two changes in staff this year. We are pleased to welcome back Professor Grubbly- Plank, who will be taking care of Magical Creatures while Professor Hagrid is on temporary leave. We also wish to welcome our Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Delores Umbridge. And I am sure you will all join me in wishing the professor good luck. As usual, our caretaker, Mr. Filch has asked me to remind you-," A woman in all pink attire cleared her throat from the very end of the stage where she sat listening to Dumbledore, it was oddly disrespectful for someone to do such a thing. Especially to the headmaster.

As everyone's heads followed the woman in pink towards the podium, it was clear that everyone believed it was just as disrespectful as I believed it to be.

"Thank you, Headmaster, for those kind words of welcome. And how lovely to see all your bright, happy faces smiling up at me. I am sure we are all going to be very good friends." The lady paused momentarily, scanning the Gryffindor table. I imagine certain redheads had something to say, and knowing their inability to be discreet, the new professor most likely heard them.
