Chapter Thirteen
The Diggory's

Hours had passed, and in those hours Estella and I had eventually woken up and begun to entertain ourselves until we arrived at Kings Cross where parents would be waiting for their children. The train ride is about nine hours long and it was always shoothing but yet a chore. I was glad they offered us drinks and snacks otherwise I'm not entirely certain I would be able to survive and Estella would probably say the same.

I was lucky enough to have not run into Draco again for the duration of the trip. I wasn't entirely sure what more words could be passed between the two of us. I wished he didn't always have to go off and ruin a nice moment that he was trying to make happen, but that is just who he is. Draco can never just let good things happen, and sometimes I wished he would.

Deep down, even if my soul would never admit it, if he tried to kiss me again when he pulled me into the compartment only a short eight hours ago, I truly would have let him. Part of me wanted him to take over my mind and soul and betray everything I have stood for, yet the other part of me doesn't. This battle between mind and heart was more difficult that anything I've ever been taught in school.

By about eight-thirty at night, we had finally arrived at Kings Cross in London, and I have to admit, I have never been more happy about seeing this platform. The platform that would soon reveal my second family, my second home, where I would spend the next few weeks doing nothing in particular with Estella.

As soon as the conductor made an announcement stating that it was safe for us to exit the train, Estella and I grabbed our trunks and entered the hallway that was full of eagerly chattering students. It took a few moments to exit the train, seeing that some parents had a tendency to create a blockade by the exit of the train hoping to greet their children immediately.

Eventually though, Estella and I made our way through the crowd where we saw her parents patiently waiting for our arrival in the back of the platform.

"Mum! Dad!" Estella shouted as she ran up to her loving parents and greeted them with an enormous hug.

"Darling." I heard her mother coo as she took her daughter into her embrace. If I had to pick anything at all that I wished I had that was Estella's, it would definitely have to be her mother, simply because she is amazing.

"Welcome home, sweetheart." Her father spoke softly to Estella as he placed a light kiss on his daughter's forehead. Once the family let go of one another they turned to me with radiant smiles on their faces, but needless to say, there was still something utterly sad present in them.

"Aurora, it is so good to see you." Mrs. Diggory said as she approached me and took my hand into hers.

"It is truly disheartening that Richard, I'm sorry, your father, is unable to spend Christmas with you, but I do hope your visit with us is fulfilling." Mr. Diggory spoke softly from behind his wife.

"No need to apologize Mr. Diggory, I just know I am going to have a wonderful time here with your family. I would like to thank you for welcoming me into your household on such short notice." I replied maturely. Just seeing Estella greet her mother and father only made me yearn to be able to hug my father, but that isn't going to happen.

"Anytime dear." Mrs. Diggory smiled softly at me.

"Alright children, we best be off if we wish to make it to the house before midnight." Mr. Diggory exaggerated as he took his daughter's luggage into his own grasp, and then did the same with mine.

As we were leaving the platform, I saw a familiar figure going the opposite direction as us, alone. I couldn't help but feel for the blonde. No matter how much either of us hated each other, I always held empathy for him. I imagine that he longed for his father to be a father, instead of who Lucius Malfoy really was, which was vial and unforgivable.
