❛❛ HEY, HEY, IN-HO OPPA! ❜❜ THE
young girl called out rather cheerfully as she waved the other boy down, running up to him and grabbing onto his arm with glee. "Let's play!"

"I don't have time, (Y/n)," he answered with a sigh as he pulled her arm away, making her pout.

"But why not?"

"I have a steady job now, so I have a lot more work to do than you do in fourth grade," he gave her a pointed look as he crossed his arms over her chest, wanting to go inside of his house after having gotten out of his car. "That means less time to play. Why don't you hang out with Jun-ho instead?"

"But you're more fun!"

In-ho sighed at her whining, knowing that she would just go complain to her mother who would complain to his mother until he had to play with her. Deciding to just go along with her, he told her to wait there so he could go and put his stuff away before coming back outside. The two ran down the alleyways hand in hand while greeting other kids, even joining some of their games as well. While In-ho had always enjoyed spending time with (Y/n) as she grew up, he knew that he had other things to do.

She was just a kid.

And he knew that their priorities were different.

With the sun dipping lower in the sky, he had less time to himself and less time to complete his work, but even when he moved to tell her that they should go home, he faltered every time he saw her smile. Rubbing the back of his neck with a wry smile, he sighed.

He couldn't help it.

They had grown up as neighbors ever since she was born, and they had been friends despite the age difference. However, as he grew older, others—whether they were his school friends before and his coworkers now—would always tease him about being friendly with someone they still deemed as a baby, laughing even when she ran out of her house everyday to greet him after work.

And then there was Jun-ho.

He knew that Jun-ho would love nothing more than to spend time with (Y/n) since he had always liked her, but for some reason, she seemed to click with his big brother more.
