Darius stared at Aida trying to figure out what she was doing. They had been walking for three hours and Veres already began to complain about the burning in his legs. Aspen felt it to but he said nothing. He was the son of Ares.
The men that captured them spoke in hushed lulls about stopping for the night to rest. Their journey would be that of three days. Darius did not feel the fatigue that over took the others. But he was sure that by the end of the three days that he would. He wondered where it was that they were being taken.
By this time they had already found Aida a dress. It was simple and worn but she made it look even better. She brought the dress to life. Aida sat side saddle on her horse. She was the embezzlement of the perfect woman. Her hair was still down and wild, but the men left her be.
Veres cursed Aida every chance that he got. The men who captured them told them if he spoke out again they would not feed him. After he spoke again they said they wouldn't feed any of them.
Darius noticed how quite Aspen had been. His his head hung low and he has said nothing since they began their journey. The disappointment of love.
Although the men had lost all hope with Aida Darius did not. If she was truly trying to hurt them, she never would have told the men that Apollo did nothing. Apollo at this point was getting special treatment. Darius believed that she did this because Apollo was to be a father. If she was truly so heartless she would have accused him as well.
At this point Aspen was somewhat jealous of Apollo. Why is it that he was getting the special treatment. Aspen tried to work it hard through his mind. It must be because Apollo was to be a father. But Aspen was supposed to be her lover. What is the difference. Then Aspen realized the truth of it all. He was not her true lover. Tarius was and as much as he wish he would not be. She was loyal. He had to give her that.
"Aida we are going to stop and rest. We will eat, you may have as much as you like. We will sleep til late morn then we will continue again." The head man of the people seemed to take a liking to Aida. At some point in the past three hours he revealed that she reminded him of his own daughter.
"You are to kind." Aida placed her hand on her heart. She looked over to Darius sending him a message. One that Darius did not understand. If he did not know better it was almost as if she winked at them.
Veres glared at Aida. Rose was right, Aida wanted nothing more than to harm them. Aida sat up on that horse while his legs burned. It was not long before the men stopped.
Aida and Apollo were allowed to eat with the men. Aida had captured all eight men's hearts while one despised her. Aspen has completely shut down. His head hung low and he appeared weak. Aspen's heart ached for Aida. He longer for her to be next to him. But she sat there. Eating and laughing. Veres stomach began to rumble and his hatred for Aida grew.
Aida tried to catch Aspen's attention many times but it did not work. The eight men laughed and dance and they each had Aida dance with them in pure fun as the others sang. Even Apollo joined in.
The fire was put out and the men ever so slowly fell asleep. Aspen had been asleep for some time, Veres was on the brink of it. Darius however stayed awake and alert. He was glad that the men had came when they did and that they had not found Aida when she was alone in the woods bathing. They might have not held such a kindness to her then. He did not see any ill in these men's heart but he often sought out the faintest of light in the darkest of places.
Darius rested his head back against the tree they were currently tied to. This was so they could not escape during the night. Darius did not want to escape, he was man enough to be captured. He had been through worse. Although the men grew to respect Apollo he was tied up as well. That way he could not help his friends escape in the night.
