"She is gone Eros. It has been seventeen years. She is dead." Athena said to her husband. He didn't want to look at her. His daughter was alive. Cora was somewhere out there.
"Just stop. You have been nothing but negative this whole time. She is not dead. I feel it deep in my soul, the the stars where we were created. She is alive and she will return. I've dreamt it." Eros told her. He has dreamt it many times and many ways.
"So now you're god of the fates." Athena stood from her seat drinking down her glass of wine completely. Eros looked at her.
"No I've just accepted the facts." Eros told her. Ever since Cora has been taken from them their relationship has been rocky. Even though they are madly in love, they argue about her constantly. Sometimes they forget why they ever loved the other.
"No you aren't dealing with your grief. You made this idea up in your mind that she will come back. You just want her to." Athena placed her glass down at the table staking back and fourth, instead of pacing.
"You want to prance around and act like she never existed. Go ahead. But she was my daughter, and I will never lose hope." Eros stood up from his chair.
"She was my daughter too Eros." Athena began to weep and ran from the room. Eros wanted to go after her and comfort her but he didn't. Who was there to comfort him when he was in need? No one. Not even Athena.
"Father. You called upon me." Darius strode into the room. His held high, shoulder back straight. He walked with confidence and grace. Darius knew his place, he knew his skill, he knew what he could do.
"Yes." Eros cleared his throat. "Take that friend of yours and go to town. Pick up some paints your Xander, books for Anika, and something for Ethos. Also pick yourself out something nice." Eros tossed him a bag a gold coins.
"Father this is to much. If something happens..." Darius started but he was cut off.
"If something happens then you're capable of protecting it. You did train with Ares. He treated you as if you were his own son. Are you saying that he failed." Eros looked at his son. If he almost hoped to see some sort of fear from his son, to give him reason to hate Ares. But all he saw was determination. No matter how hard Eros tried he could not hate Ares.
Not after he just lost his wife. It was rare when Gods die, but she was killed by Zeus. As punishment for her crimes against the Gods. But Ares never knew what she was doing, he always thought she was off with a lover. Aphrodite has had her sights set on Ares, even though she is married but he was been rejecting her. Which Eros is secretly glad of. He only put up with Aphrodite because she is his wife's sister. Other than that he thinks she deserves the marriage she is entrapped in.
"I will protect it with my life." Darius bowed down to one knee with his arm over his heart. He stayed there for about four seconds then stood up.
"If you can, get something for your mother as well." Darius nodded his head and left.
Darius headed off to his friend Apollo's house. Darius did not care what god Apollo was, just that he was a loyal friend. He strode into Apollo's palace.
"Apollo." Darius bellowed. His voice vibrating off the walls.
"What in the name of Hades do you want!" Apollo yelled back.
"Come out my old friend we are going on an adventure. " Darius looked around the palace. His father was have one built for each of his brothers. So that when they find a woman to fill their homes and marry they will have a place to live. The only thing is Darius has yet to meet a woman he truly enjoys the presence of.
