'You in pain?' I asked, rubbing Trevan's shoulder and he shrugged me off.
'I'm cool.' He said and I raised my eyebrow, if it's one thing I wasn't that was stupid. I could tell that something was bothering him as ever since he was beaten up last week he's been acting strange with me.
'I've been calling you but you won't answer my calls.' He shrugged.
'Busy.'
'Really? Doing what? Your mum said you've just been indoors all day.'
'Phones off-' Just then his phone started ringing and he cleared his throat awkwardly, he got up and went to answer his phone call. Okay, I'd obviously done something to him even if I didn't know what it was. I played with my hair whilst I waited for him to get off the phone and when he did he sat back down.
'Have I done something?' He shook his head.
'Whilst I was in hospital that week I was thinking init, quite hard actually. Maybe you shouldn't be around me as much as before and I mean rarely around me.' I raised my eyebrow, where was this all coming from?
'I don't get it, why?'
'Jordan, people, I just think it's best if you space yourself from me init.' I nodded slowly not quite understanding why he was doing this.
'It's for your own safety Natalie.'
'So who's going to be there for me then?' I asked.
'You've got Star and Emma, I'm not doing this to be a dickhead trust me you'll notice no-one trouble you in a few months and everything will be back to normal.' I looked at him, I knew it was so much more deeper than that, there were other reasons.
'You're gonna go away again aren't you?' I asked him and he looked at me, I knew it. Why the fuck did this boy always have to get himself in trouble? It was like he was incapable of staying out of trouble.
'For a little while, I'll be back though.'
'You said that last time and you were gone for months Trevan.' He sighed and pulled me onto his lap and kissed me.
'I said I'll be back.'
'Yeah, before I had Jamal here Trevan I don't think you get it.'
'I know Natalie but I have something to do-'
'It's related to Jordan, it's so obvious.' He looked away from me and I slowly shook my head, I swear he was trying so hard to get himself killed.
'They'll kill you this time Trevan, they won't just put you in hospital. Who's gonna fight off Jordan? You and your one man army?'
'Shut up Natalie you don't know half of what's going on.' I rolled my eyes and got off him, I picked up my jacket and he frowned.
'Aye where you going?'
'Home, fuck you Trevan.' I said and walked out of his bedroom, he followed me downstairs and blocked the front door so I couldn't leave.
'It's for your own benefit Natalie, stop having a bitch fit.'
'Jamal said the exact same fucking thing! You're JUST like him, I knew this whole thing with you would be a bad idea, you're going to do the same shit he did to me.'
'No I'm not man, I already told you I'm not him-'
'Really? You seem exactly the same to me. Whatever anyway, I don't really care if you come back or not. Wasted my fucking time.' I said and he moved out of the way so I could leave, I closed the front door behind me and walked to the bus stop, I was angry at myself for thinking this would work with him. One of the biggest mistakes I'd made was falling for my best friend, it was stupid and I knew it wouldn't work from day one why did I even fool myself?
