Cheng Xing deleted Fen Yuhang's number and walked back into Li Ming's office.
"Li Ming, I'm going to head home."
Li Ming nods without looking up. "You can use my car; I'll catch a bus. Drive safe."
Cheng Xing nodded and left.
Cheng Xing carefully pulled up to the house and flopped onto the couch. There was a note on Cheng Xing's bed:
URGENT: Meet me in the old warehouse at 10 tonight. Need to talk.
The car door slammed shut, a cold gust of wind blew through him. The night was dark, a sliver of the moon in the sky. He walked near the warehouse hands in his pockets, feigning a casual stance.
Cheng Xing went into the warehouse. The place was worn down, broken and trashed. Cheng Xing looked over to the spot where Da An had died, the remnants of dried blood still staining the floor.
The metallic scent of blood was still in the air. The sound of dirt shuffled behind him. He turned around to see Li Ming.
"Li Ming? What are you doing here?"
Li Ming walks over to Cheng Xing and smiles. Li Ming touches Cheng Xing's face and kisses him. Cheng Xing kisses back, fully enticed into it. Li Ming pulls away slowly, with Cheng Xing still gazing into his eyes.
"Li Ming why are you here?
"I got the text from you."
"What do you mean?"
"Look."
Li Ming shows Cheng Xing's text. Cheng Xing's smile became more concerned.
"I never texted you that. Fen Yuhang told me to come here."
Cheng Xing looks around the warehouse.
"Something's not right, let's go."
Cheng Xing grabs Li Ming's hand but before he could run out the warehouse a chain came around and pulled Cheng Xing back to the centre of the warehouse. Ping Heng walked out, fully dressed in his assassin outfit.
"Looks like you really are more than friends."
Cheng Xing gets in a fighting stance, His whole body tensing and shaking at the same time. A chain wraps around Li Ming and pulls him away. Da Qiang had a sharp arrow tip lightly pressed against Li Ming's neck. Ping Heng chuckles darkly.
"Cheng Xing, do you want to tell Li Ming, it or should I?"
"Tell him wha-"
"You know what. You're afraid of it. Your....... secrets."
Cheng Xing looks over at Li Ming clenching his jaw before turning back to Ping Heng.
"Tell me what?" Li Ming said half intrigued.
"You're a great policeman Li Ming. It's sad you couldn't see through the lies."
Ping Heng looks at Li Ming.
"Didn't think an assassin could be such a good lover. Very convincing though."
Cheng Xing looked over at Li Ming. "Li Ming I'm not an assassin," he begged.
"You saw, I don't have the tattoo."
"Is that so?" Ping Heng snickered. His voice hardened. "You're good at lying Cheng Xing."
Cheng Xing's hands clench into fists. Angry, he runs at Ping Heng. Ping Heng dodges and pushes Cheng Xing towards the wall. His back slams against it and he gives a short shout of pain, pain spiking through his body.
