Yuzuru fell asleep not that long after with her body cuddled close to hers. Sophia didn't fall asleep but was glad he did. It allowed her to get out of the room without the painful goodbye.

She left the warmth of the bed and started preparing everything to leave. All of her bags were packed since the afternoon.

After a quick shower, she couldn't help but stare at the figure peacefully sleeping on her bed. Doing this might have been a bigger mistake than she thought initially but there was no going back now.

Leaving without waking him up would probably make him mad, but still, it was the best option she had to avoid crying more.

The girl decided on writing a note. He would still be mad in the end, but knowing his gentle heart, she would be forgiven in no time.

'I'm sorry I didn't have the heart or courage to wake you up.
Thank you for the amazing time we spent together. I hope one day I can get back to the show and perform by your side again, it was both an honor and a pleasure. I long for the day I get to see you again, but meanwhile, I have hopes we can still talk sometimes.
Don't stop bringing the magic of your skating to the world.
Thank you for the wonderful goodbye.
See you soon. Love, Soph.'

With shiny eyes, the musician left the hotel room and went into the Japanese streets one last time.

🎻

Yuzuru woke up a few hours after to an empty bed. He looked into his watch and realized Sophia's flight had parted hours before. Why had she left before saying goodbye? He was mad but somehow not surprised. The musician had been on the verge of tears every time he asked them to talk.

His eyes shined with unshed tears as he read the note found on the bedside table. The woman had too much power over him and his sensitive emotions, but he hardly ever fought her. Sophia managed to enter his space as no one had ever done before just to leave soon after. It wasn't her fault but didn't mean it hurt any less.

The skater texted her after the initial rage and sadness faded.

'I hope you have a safe flight. Will you call me once you arrive?'

He wasn't going to complain over text, but he would certainly tell her how he felt about the way she left once the girl calls him.

🎻

20 hours of travel later and 2 connection flights, Sophia arrived in London.
The first impression of her hometown for the past 10 years was how chaotic it was in comparison to Japan, especially the Stansted Airport where she was currently waiting for her bags.

The wait turned out monumental, just as expected so she turned her phone on and was immediately greeted with Yuzuru's text.

Yeah, he's mad. She thought but didn't dare to call him while at the airport, choosing to wait until she got home. It was currently 1 am in Japan, but he was always a late sleeper.

It would be a lie to say that she wanted to call him when she arrived home. As much as she enjoyed their conversations, not only was she sure this would be a bad one, but she was also very tired from the traveling.

Still, Sophia wanted to at least be on talking terms with the skater so she texted him asking if she could call.

The answer came in the form of a video call request by Yuzuru. She planned on a voice call, it would be easier to face his rage, but this would have to do.

"Hey" she said once his face showed up on the screen, he also looked tired which wasn't surprising given the hour there.

"Hi" he answered, seemingly not amused. "How was the flight?"

"Tiring"

"Regular flight then?" Yuzuru asked laughing at how unamused she was, seemingly forgetting he was supposed to be mad at her.

"I guess, but the airport was a mess, almost more tiring that the whole trip back"

"Already missing the Japanese culture, huh?"

"Honestly, yes..."
His sudden change of expression to a more serious mood made her sigh. "Alright, I know you're mad, just let it out"

"I just think I deserved more than that. Leaving me on your hotel bed and just leaving?"

"Sorry, I..."

"I know why Soph, it still hurts. I know how hard it would be to say goodbye, but it's part of life"

"I know, I'm not necessarily a brave person, you know as much. I could barely look at you without crying when I left, I can almost imagine if I did it while you were awake."

"Sometimes I just wish I could be mad at you" he said, making her eyes widen. "You mean too much for me to just hurt you with words."

"Yuzu..."

"Let me speak" he interrupted. "Last night meant a lot to me, just so you know. Even if it was just a goodbye from you."

"What? It wasn't just..."

"It doesn't matter, I can't do anything about it when you're in London and I'm in Canada or Japan"

"Yuzuru, don't do this to me"

"Do what?"

"You know what"

"Ok"

"But I do have something to say..."

"Hum?"

"I still have the promise to keep, or have you forgotten?"

"About what?"

"Yuzu, yuzu..."

"What did I forget?" He sounded slightly panicked.

"I haven't played 'The Swan' to you and I want to do it in person"

His eyes shined with joy.

"Can't wait. Soon"
