"You always have the worse timing ever...you couldn't wait a bit more? Until I was at least able to stand properly?"
She told him, pretending to be mad at the man in front of her.

In reality, she was happier than ever, after waiting to hear those words for so long, it didn't matter how wrong the time was, all she wanted was to hear them.

"No... I don't know if you realize it, but I could have lost you. I can't stand not telling you and risking not having the chance again"

"You're such a dork...I can barely move, how am I supposed to hug you or kiss you senseless?"

"Oh?"

"I love you too, Mr. Hanyu"

Yuzuru's face turned into a huge grin, glad and relieved to hear those very simple words that have been consuming him for the past weeks.

He didn't wait for any requests and simply kissed her lips in a gentle way. Sophia was still very sore and her face was still slightly swollen, last thing he needed was for her to get even worse.

She silently raised the sheets of the bed and invited him to her side. He took the offer without any words and made sure to bring her body close to his as soon as he was by her side.

It felt incredible to cuddle her and feel her body against his after everything that happened in the last week, everything crashed at once but they were both fighters and wouldn't go down without a fight.

The next days, he spent a lot of time by her side, only leaving once every day to have a shower and change clothes at his hotel.

His nights were spent by her side, despite her insistent whining that she wouldn't mind if he wanted to sleep more comfortably. Yuzuru didn't want to leave her side more that necessary.

Josh ended up being discharged only a few days after the accident and got back to London and to his family and boyfriend as soon as he was allowed. He was a bit reticent to leave Sophia behind but after her and Yuzuru's reassurance, he finally booked the trip.

Soph's condition wasn't that easy to heal. She would need a few more days at the hospital and the doctors had been strongly advising against any trips for at least two weeks after being discharged.
Staying in the United States hadn't been on her plans, but Yuzuru would never allow her to go against the doctor's advice.

The man went as far as asking if she wanted him to rent somewhere for them to stay, only to receive a glare and a comment that his hotel room would suffice since she could barely move either way.

Seeing most of her colleagues get back to their normal lives was weird. Sophia was still mad that she couldn't attend the funeral of her friend and the other musicians that lost their lives in the accident due to her condition. It was hard for her to even imagine just going back to rehearsals only a few weeks after what happened and going back to normal life.

Still, she understood why they had to. The London Symphony Orchestra couldn't just stop working all of the sudden, there were sponsors to please and concerts to give.

The reality of her injuries made her wonder if her skills would ever go back to what they used to be. Anything else and she would never have a chance to play with the Orchestra again. Despite the low chances, the only thing Sophia looked for was being able to play again, the rest she could figure out as time went on.

It was almost weird that she wasn't that big of a fan of the violin and suddenly all she wanted to do was play it. Absence does seem to make the heart go fonder, after all.

On the day of her hospital release, Yuzu patiently awaited for the long process to come to an end. She was submitted to all sorts of blood exams, ecographies, and x-rays to make sure it was safe to go. The first challenge was to walk again. Due to her hand injury, it would be impossible to use crutches, so her body would have to adapt back to regular walking a little faster or her only option for a while would be a wheelchair.

Not one to give up easily and with the help of one of the hospital's physiotherapists, Sophia managed to start slowly walking again after a few hours. It still took her an eternity to get from one place to another, but at least she could do it by herself.

After the long wait hours, a doctor finally gave her the last recommendations, making sure she knew about the appointment they had in two weeks to assess whether or not she could go back to traveling.

With the help of Yuzuru, who helped her carry the violin case that thankfully survived it all, and the one suitcase of hers they managed to save and they were out of the hospital.

Getting fresh air was a relieving but still strange feeling after so long inside those doors. Her steps were still very slow, her body still getting used to the idea of standing and walking again after 2 weeks without standing up.

They looked ridiculous, both slightly limping and waiting for the taxi to show up. Give it to them to be hurt at the same time.

The ride was quick, the skater chose the closest hotel available at the time and received an eye from the employees when he booked it for 2 more weeks. He could see how suspicious they were and offered to pay the total at the time of booking.

Because of this, or the exorbitant amount of money he was paying for the room, whenever he asked anything from the employees, they were steadily ready.

Yuzuru got an extra keycard to give to Sophia even if he probably wouldn't allow her to leave the room alone.

Arriving at the room, Sophia looked at him in astonishment. It was a huge suite, probably the best one in the hotel, the bed was clearly a king size and the bathroom looked straight out of a movie. The skater didn't usually go into such luxuries, but it was the only room available and at the time he couldn't care less about money.

"How much are you paying for this?" she asked him with a very serious expression.

"Doesn't matter"

"Let me pay half"

"No"

"Yuzu!"

"It's fine, Soph. It's not like I can't afford it."

"If I'm living here, I should at least pay a part"

"Stop thinking about money... Please"

"Can I at least pay for the meals?"

"No"

"You can't be serious"

"They are already included, and it's paid. Stop worrying, you need to rest"

Yuzuru could see she wasn't very pleased with how all of that turned out. He knew she had money, she was one of the highest-paid musicians in the orchestra for being a soloist. But still, it wasn't even near what he earned from his sponsor deals and skating-related revenue.

The money conversation was something he knew was almost unavoidable, but it was something they would deal with as time went on.

He saw her sit on the bed with difficulty and smiled at her. "Do you need me to get you anything?"

"No... just come to bed."
