Being a Christian is not just about going to church, refraining to do the wrong instead of right, reading the Bible, knowing the rules and all that.
As a child of a Bible Woman (Female Pastor) and I can say that am not good for no one is good except God. I do sin every single day and am hypocrite. Though we can pretend that we are good and all that but that only indicates that we sin. And man only looks at the appearance but God sees the heart.
And death is payment of our sin. And that death is on the lake of fire, how terrifying. Many would say, am a good person. No, no one except God Himself. You see, we sin every single day, and that means if we sum it all up, we sure lost count.
Then we say, rules, rules.
Well, we used to have close relationship with God, but because we choose our own self-righteousness, and sinned against God when Adam and Eve eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, we disobeyed God; and God is holy, our relationship broke apart.
God intended things for our good, but we choose our sins anyway. We love our sins so much that we have this pride not to go to Him, that we really need Him in our lives.
But because God loved us first, He sent His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ on this earth and lived the perfect life we surely can't. He lived His life with love all the way. And He was the fulfillment of the law. Then when it was the time of His crucifixion, Jesus willingly took every beating, even though He knew this would happen, for us. Yes, He did. He willingly took our sins upon Himself, and die the cruelest death on the cross. Though He was buried then, yet He rose again after three days, victor over death, hell, and sin. Yes, Jesus won the victory we cannot win.
And we are called to respond to that. We are called to believe on Him, Jesus Christ, that He died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. Because He can forgive all our trespasses even we think we are long gone.
And because God is just, He is the good judge who despense justice. You see, we are sinners because of the sins we commit day by day. Our good deeds can't cover our sins. And because of this we surely be thrown on the lake of fire when we die. But because of the blood of Jesus Christ that cleansed our sins from before, today and the days to come. And that He died, was buried and rose again the third day for our sins according to the scriptures. Jesus is the perfect lamb for the redemption of our souls. Remember God is the judge, So when God sees us, He does not see the sin in us, but Christ who redeemed us. And after we believed in Him, the finished work of Christ on the cross, that He died, was buried and rose again, we are forgiven and free from the prison of sin and we no longer doomed to the lake of fire, but has eternal life in Heaven someday with Him. We then are sealed by God the Holy Spirit, that tells us that we become the sons and daughters of God. Yes, we are justified. Then our bodies became the temple of the Holy Spirit, in which He renewed our flaws day by day. He is our Comforter. So because of this, we can see that Christians go to church because they are saved from eternal suffering on the lake of fire, free from the strife of sin, the clutches of Satan, and became children of God, who will one day be in heaven when they die. And because they are saved, they do how Jesus lived His life, striving to be like Him. And it’s not rules, they do it willingly. They read the Bible because they want to hear God’s voice. Pray because they want to talk to Him. And that’s relationship.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ who is the only way to heaven, the truth that can set us free from the bondage of falsehoods and the life who gives us life when one is died in sin and you shall be saved. It’s all about what Jesus had done on the cross, not our works that can save us.
Even one is a daughter of a pastor, she can’t spread the gospel if she too did not received the gift first, yes you are right. But when one understands, one then believes and then the works came, one then is able to live the life God has given them. One will not think it’s just commandments to fulfill.
The gospel (good news) is that, Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again. Accept the gift (gospel) that God is giving you by believing Jesus Christ.
