Peter wakes up to the sound of his alarm ringing. It's sort of involuntary when he reaches for the other side of his bed, swiping his hand across it. It's also a bit disappointing when he doesn't feel anything but cold silk sheets.
Y/N isn't there.
His hands move to his face, swiping it. He sighs. It's been a little less than a day since he last saw her and he already misses her like hell. Peter licks his lips, opening his eyes, staring up at the ceiling.
And it's only Wednesday and he's working and he has no clue when he's seeing Y/N again.
Stupid grown ups with stupid love lives and stupid jobs.
But as Peter goes through his morning routine, he doesn't feel sad or anxious or anything bad. Honestly, he doesn't even have time to because when he reaches for his phone to turn off the other alarm he set, he already sees the hundreds of messages Y/N's sent him since she landed.
Stupid timezonesOn the night before, after going through the note, Peter didn't text her - as much as he felt like doing so.
Y/N: I landed, can't thank you enough for that.
Y/N: HANG ON A SECOND
Y/N: GROSS I SAT ON THAT COUCH YESTERDAY MORNING
Y/N: EW EW EW I NEED TO THROW AWAY MY SWEATS AND CLEAN MY ARSE SO GOOD
Y/N: AND NED
Y/N: IS HE OKAY?
Y/N: OH MY GOD HE SAW US FUCKING NO NO NO NO
Y/N: PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF HES OKAY
Y/N: Can I have his number maybe?
Y/N: You get jealous still?
Y/N: 1 Attachment
The picture is of her and Willow in the same bed which Peter does clench his jaw and feel a tad bit of jealousy in him.
Y/N: Wills Flat flooded so she's staying here :(
Y/N: But that's okay because I love her
Y/N: Goodnight, gonna sleep for an hour but then I have work.
Throughout the day - and as most of his working days -, Peter doesn't have much time to stay on his phone. He still talks to Y/N when he can, smiling whenever he checks his messages and having to put his phone down because Ned will be looking at him with an annoyed look on his face during their meeting with his new lawyer.
They leave the compound at 18:00 and Peter honestly feels so good for finally leaving. When he walks to his car - Ned on his side because he gave him a ride earlier today -, Peter grabs his phone to see if Y/N texted. And, apparently, his phone battery is now shit because his phone is dead.
Peter sighs, "How do you feel," he turns to his mate, "About a beer?"
"No. Ellies parents are coming tonight and we are going to tell them about the pregnancy." Ned shakes his head.
