The time passed by and my student life continue, I had some minor problems as every kid has nothing much. Two months had passed since the school began, and I started getting closer to Harper. I adore Lucy but I identified more with Harper, I don't know why but we seemed to have the same tastes even with boys. And that was topic that started everything.
Harper started to like a guy a few years older than us, she met him through the internet. He was in the university already, she talked with him a lot (and I mean a lot, she would pass all day in her phone) but somehow, I was a little worried about her and him. He was older than us, she haven't seen his face, she only talked with him trough the phone, and what if he wasn't the age that he said he was, that went through my mind, until one day.
In a Friday morning Harper came to me, we would tell everything to each other, she aske me if I could go with her meet that guy.
-Harper, you know my parents would never allow me to go. And knowing that he is older and that you have never seen him, makes it impossible for them to allow. – I already knew my parents, they would never let me go.
-You can, just not tell the, the truth. You can say that we are going to work for this school project. – she said showing me the notes for the geography project about agglomeration.
-Okay, okay. I'll try but I don't promise anything plus today is already Friday. – I just couldn't say no to her.
I went home early, we didn't have classes on Friday afternoon, my parents weren't at home. There was only me, my grandma, and my grandpa. I went go my grandma to ask her if she thought that my parents would allow me to go, normally if she said that they would, they really would. I felt bad for lying to her also but if I told her she would tell my parents, that was the kind of secret she couldn't keep. She said that if it was for school they would let me go, I hope so if not Harper was going to be really mad at me.
After doing all my homework and the work that mom left for me to do at home, she arrived. My dad was working late again, there were times that when he got home, I was already sleeping, so I asked my mom.
-Mom! – I said in fear.
-Yes Layla. – she was putting her clothes in the closet and didn't even looked at me.
-I need to ask you something... - I froze when she looked at me.
-What do you want now?
-Hm, me and Harper have this project for geography about agglomeration and we need to take some photos for that in the town, would you let me go with her tomorrow afternoon to do that? – I said all at once I almost lost my breath.
-You know I must ask your father about this, I'll call him later and I let you know. -she said. I already knew she would say that.
-But mom don't tell me too late please. I need to confirm with her and her mom.
-Layla I'll tell you when I can, end of discussion! – she screamed at me, like always.
I nodded my head and left her room. I texted Harper saying that I asked my mom and that she said she would ask my dad and then tell me the answer, but she had to wait until my mom feels like telling me something. I thought she would get mad at me but turns out that she told me she would wait for me to have the answer and that she knew how strict my parents were.
I was in my room practicing the piano when my mom called me from the kitchen.
-Yes mom. You called me? - I asked entering the kitchen.
-I was talking with your father on the phone and we agreed on letting you go. But your aunt is going to drive you there and pick up after.
-Really? Thank you so much mom! – I was so happy they let me go that I didn't even care that my aunt was driving me there.
I immediately texted Harper saying that I could go, she was happier than I was. We agreed to met in the shopping center and then leave from there. That way no one would know what we were going to do.
The next day after lunch, my aunt left me at the shopping center only after confirming that I had my camera, it was Harper and that Harper's mom was there also. After they both left, we started walking to the meeting place, I was nervous, I didn't know who was going to show up, but I couldn't tell Harper. She looked calm, so to distract myself I started to take some pictures to have some "proof" that it was for the project.
Not long after, we arrived to the place, I was relieved that she chose a public place with a lot of people around us. That way would be less dangerous, I think. We waited there for some time, Harper wouldn't stop texting.
-Is he late? – I asked her.
-He said he got stuck in traffic, but he is going to be here in 5 min. – she was starting to get nervous.
-Okay. Hey, let me take some pictures of you, I got my camera so... - I told her to make her feel better.
We were having fun taking pictures together and 10 min after a guy approached us. He was tall, with green eyes and blonde hair, he was older than us, but he didn't look like it.
-Hi, are you Harper? I'm Justin. – he said looking right into Harper's eyes.
